Bragging a bit...

The Seattle Times selected one of my photographs to run in today's Northwest Weekend section!!!

Taking pictures seems to have become my distraction of choice these days, which keeps me away from gaming and spending time with y'all. Honestly, taking my D2 no-twink solo HC bow barb to Hell A5 was a lot more work and a bigger accomplishment than taking that picture. Just not something the newspaper's going to get very excited about.

D2 just seems to have lost its shine, GW is an impossibility. But Civ now - that's finally out for Macs, isn't it? Hmmm......

Congratulations, Amy ! Your eye for seeing the sublime in the ordinary is something I envy. And I cannot think of an effective argument to suggest that you should do anything other than keep on taking those wonderful photographs.

So, the Seattle Space Needle played a WW Barb in Diablo II.

Who would have guesses?

Well, it got an honorable mention - I can't link to it directly, but the Year's Best gallery link takes you there. That gift certificate would have been nice. I haven't seen the hardcopy yet - I guess the winner got on the cover of the insert and the rest are printed inside. I'm partial to the snow geese.

The cynic in me has to wonder though, if they just started picking a shot a week in May, and there are 16 honorable mentions.... Isn't that like, half of the photos submitted?

That's not half of the photos submitted. That's half of the very good photos that were already chosen for photo of the week. So, I think you're in good company. smile

Congrats again.

Did you get any cool photos of the storm?

What Gris said - and 'grats.

I think it's neat that you're able to capture a moment like that. With music the moments tend to be ephemeral. (I wish I had a "point & shoot" recording studio.)

Well, Grats!

You know I don't agree with the judges' first choice but...

Yeah, I was wondering what picture of snow geese can be so impressive to Amy, but WoW, I am truly impressed with that one.

I have got to get out more and grab some wintry scenes.

Congrats!!!!

Yeah, I dunno about the winning photo - it doesn't seem nearly as original or striking as some of the others. Yours is really neat, Amy - I think the motion blurring of the lights lifts the photo into the realm of Exceptional! And I agree with you guys about the geese photo - that is really something!
