But of course, nobody knows what civ you got, so we can only assume that we have the same starting positions lol

I took quite a few notes on my starting position and moves, and if we have the same civs, then we can compare on reporting day smile

Now the report rant

Hi all,

I'm new to the site and forum. I joined Epic8 earlier today, have already received my save, but only now I was able to take a closer look at the game rules and stuff, and I have a couple of doubts, sorry if they seem too dumb: rolleye

1. I have Blue Marble graphic mod installed. Can I play with it here? I have played CFC GOTMs with it, and yes, I know there is an approval process going on here. If not, is it simple to uninstall it? huh

2. I noticed that there are very elaborate reports after the games. Is a text-only (maybe with some screenshots) report acceptable? Also, I don't have a personal site and don't have the slightest idea of how to create a webpage or htm document.

1. You can play with the mod installed, but it won't be included in the results. As far as I know, the Blue Marble mod has not been approved yet. I've never used the mod (or any mod in fact), so I do not know how easy/difficult it is to uninstall it. Perhaps someone else can answer that for me.

2. A text-only with a few (or no) pictures is completely acceptable smile If you take a look at the reports, some of them are just that. There is no need for a personal webpage. You can write up your report straight into a forum thread. I like to have a webpage so I can have a collection of all my reports, instead of a jumble of reports in a forum.

Yes, it is very easy to uninstall. Blue Marble is installed by copying certain files to your customassets folder under your civ4 'my documents' folder. The easiest way to get back to a vanilla civ4 install is to rename customassets ... I typically rename it to 'customassets-blue marble'. In fact, I have about 7 customasset folders like this and I have written a little vb program to help me manage them.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Assuming you've kept the installer file you downloaded, just start it up again, and choose Uninstall. I've switched countless times between Blue Marble and regular graphics.
