scooter Wrote:Ask those I've played with... Yeah there was discussion on how to approach things, but I don't run posts through other editors ever.

I have to back Scooter up on this point. When I played with him in WW3, we discussed a lot about strategy and such, but he never ran any posts by us before posting them. There were only a few instances where we discussed specific wording of posts; one was when Bruindane disappeared on us, and we gave him specific suggestions about what to post to avoid a mod-kill. The other was GES, who ran one post by me before posting it. But the question was more whether or not to post it (i.e. strategy), rather than the exact wording.

Lynching Scooter might still be a good idea, but I wouldn't do it for this reason.
If you know what I mean.

Well, I apologize if that is seen as metagaming. As it was directly in the thread I assumed I am allowed to comment on it.

Actually I don't think there's any direct rule for it (I thought there was).

I won't punish this, but it's clear that some people find the line of argument distasteful. That ought to be sufficient motivation if needed.

For what it's worth I don't think Serdoa's done anything wrong - certainly not enough to warrant any sort of disciplinary action. I just think it's an absurd argument to make for a person's guilt or innocence. I don't find it constructive nor relevant; rather, I see it as a distraction from the actual game more than anything else. It's one thing to compare a person's actions / behavior in past games and compare it to the present. It's quite another to take a formatting quirk from someone's posts and draw the conclusion that they're a 'Wolf vetting their words with their brethren before posting. Just seems a little far-fetched and silly to me. wink No offense Serdoa.

Anyway, this discussion itself is rather pointless, so I'm going to drop out from it. smile I just felt like commenting on it since I have a few minutes to kill just after my lunch break before I go back to grinding paperwork - ugh! Oh, I should probably add that I'll be attending my cousin's birthday gathering tonight, so I may be a little late to the opening discussion. Probably 9-10ish EDT.

Alright, I've got a few more minutes here so let's see what I can do to address a few things.

1. I really don't see an issue with those meta comments by Serdoa actually. They're not "forum-related meta comments" - so I don't see why it's against the rules, even aimed at me. I actually thought it was kind of funny that he figured out what was causing it, because I couldn't figure it out for the longest time where those stupid asterisks were coming from lol.

2. Along that line - is there anyone who still thinks that's somehow suspicious? I could clarify further if there's still confusion, but I think it's a total non-issue, and I don't want there to be lingering doubt that I'm unaware of. Moving on...

Adderssing my apparent suckiness at villager

It's apparent that I'm much more suspected than I thought I was. I guess I didn't realize quite how poorly I've played thus far. When I left yesterday with 90 minutes to go, I left pretty confident that Erebus was a werewolf and that I was not going to be mislynched. So yes, I was pretty surprised and disturbed to find out Erebus was innocent AND I was nearly mislynched too. I guess I sort of got the impression that Meiz was the one with tunnel vision, and most others recognized that, while I wasn't playing very well/actively, there also wasn't sufficient grounds to lynch me. Apparently I was wrong, and that was a pretty big wake-up call for me.

You see, tomorrow, we cannot afford a mislynch. I pretty firmly believe we have to nail a wolf.. We have just 2 mislynches left by my count, so a mislynch tomorrow means we'd have to nail a wolf 4/5 days, and with a double-voter out there, I think there's almost no way we could pull that off. We just can't. Considering I know for a fact that I am innocent, it's obvious I need to exert a LOT more effort making it crystal clear that I am innocent. The problem is, I really am not sure where to start on that. I feel like Meiz is the only one who has ever given any clear (yet IMO, misguided) thoughts on why I am guilty, and it seems like everyone else is just kinda going with it for reasons that I don't understand. So I have 2 questions for everyone.

1. Why exactly do you think I am guilty? I would like this to be answered by someone other than Meiz - preferably one of the "village leaders" like Serdoa or Ichabod - the only two people that I really fully trust to be innocent. Zakalwe and Roland are sort of on the fringe of that in my mind, so I'd entertain that too. And Meiz - this is not to dismiss you - but I really think that at this point if Mardoc himself came in here and said I was innocent, you'd still vote for me, so I'm curious what the others think... I've answered everything you've brought up and it gets ignored, so I'm curious what others believe the case against me to be... Because I really don't see what it is.

(side-note: Why do I keep getting labeled as not really contributing while people like Sareln are just floating by? I forgot he was even PLAYING in this game.)

2. What can I do to prove my innocence? I have no idea really, but at this point, I'm willing to do anything. Like I said, I think mislynch tomorrow = victory for wolves, so I'm willing to jump through a lot of hoops to prevent that from happening. One problem is I'm almost afraid to make cases against other people at this point, because I've hit that critical point where if someone mildly suspects me and then I start to push for their guilt, they just see that as "confirming" my guilt, and I get killed anyways. I've watched this phenomena and laughed about it and even made fun of it as a wolf, but it's considerably less funny now that I'm a villager dealing with it.

I don't think Serdoa did anything wrong, but I don't think we should pursue that argument further. It's sufficiently grey to let it rest IMO.

I would like to wait if I even live tomorrow (I somehow doubt it) before I start asking you questions scooter. After all it doesn't help you if you answer those and the one asking them is dead.

But in general the issue I have with you is similar to zak. I read your posts, I see you trying - but it sounds for me like trying to be a villager, not actually being a villager. It is simply like the difference between someone chiming in to say hello and someone chiming in, seeing that you need to clean the dishes and helping you.

1. I still laugh that you really believed I figured that out. Should have become an actor as my mother always told me wink I haven't had a mobile phone since 2004 btw, so that was really a shot in the dark, hoping that you'd answer it yourself. What you did. (Oh, and I after your post I even asked my wife to bring her companys I-Phone with her tonight to test it - I'll guess I won't do that lol )

2. As I started it, I'd say let it rest. Honestly, I think what you described is the truth. If you have left out parts of the story or not we'll find out after the game. wink

And I would like to apologize by you scooter. It might be that you are a wolf, but if that is the case then we should indeed be able to catch you by your postings and not by your *'s.
