I won't be able to post the report till this evening, but I couldn't stand to see the thread so lonely.

I decided to pretty much take the industrious trait and go nuts. I played my game as Roosevelt the Wonder Hog. I built every wonder but three and captured the rest. Founded two religions of my own and conquered the holy cities of the rest. Built every shrine but two and captured those two.

I think this is the only game I've ever played on Monarch level where I had the realistic possibility of winning by any victory condition. I decided to hold off on quicker victories to win by culture in 2025. I had a lot of fun with this one.

[EDIT: My report is now online. You can find it here:

Looks like it might be just you and me on this thread, eYe. I wonder where are all the other Roosevelts?

Nice game Paleman- I liked your variant within a variant. You had one heck of a run there for Monarch wonderbuilding. I played a Prince SG where we built all the wonders in the game (but not all shrines)- After that game I did not think it possible to do on Monarch, but now I might just try wink. A very good game. Sounded like you had fun too thumbsup, that being the most important thing.

I also wonder where all the FDRs are... I played as Arabia (cultural victory for me too) and we only got like 3 reports huh.

Oh well, thanks for the report.

If you post an executive summary (ie. Finish date, victory/loss type, and a 2-3 sentence outline you be a bit more leisurely about getting the report up) today then just take your time. Alternatively just do the imageshack thing, that is what I do and it is very easy.

Well, there *were* three wonders and two shrines I didn't build. But I think it would be possible to build them all on Monarch - at least all the wonders. For one, I probably could have gotten the Parthenon if I hadn't spent the shields on the axemen who invaded Rome. Also, I could have gotten Engineering earlier, and I could have researched Nationalism sooner rather than waiting to grab it with Liberalism.

Apparently 17 people played Saladin (Sirian posted the results of the die rolls in the Egypt thread). The Arab position looked tough and cramped, so maybe there were lots of losses people don't want to report. Really, all the positions were pretty cramped except the American start. America's start was a bit low on food and there was a fair amount of tundra/ice, which maybe compensated somewhat. Mali's start was easily the worst - low food AND cramped.
