Civilization replay

Not quite the civilization replay that we always see, but I found this interesting:

http://www.mapsofwar.com/ind/imperial-history.html

Around here, this should be up the alley of at least one historian lol

That was a pretty cool "replay" there is certainly a lot of information in there that gets forgotten and "left out" of debates. Looks like pretty much everybody has historical claim to the place wink. Watchout for those radical Hittite extremists bent on reclaiming the Holy Land lol!

BTW- T-Hawk my cousin is studying engineering at Stevens (Stephens?) in your neck of the woods.
On League of Legends I am "BertrandDeHorn"

Ok, that was officially a lot of fun, T-Hawk. I was calling out the names of the various empires before they appeared on the screen, which was fun. smile But they actually skipped quite a few empires! No mention of the Hellenic successor states following Alexander (the Seleucids, Ptolemies, etc.), they simplified the three different Persian Empires into one (rather then mentioning Achaemenid Persia, the Parthians, and the "New" Persian Empire), VASTLY simplified the Islamic states of the middle ages (Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates), no discussion of the Mamelukes, nothing on Safavid Persia - seriously! lol

Anyway, I'd love to see one of those done on the British Empire, which is my main historical focus. If only I knew how to create flash animations myself... wink

Yes, that was very interesting. I enjoyed it, and much of it was familiar to me. It was amusing to see the size of some of the empires, it was especially amazing what Genghis Khan did for the Mongols, from many small barbaric tribes, to one of the largest empires the world has ever seen.
