Quote:Will look at a save when I get a chance but gut says we want another hunter/hawk pair. One for home defense and early warning and another to start mapping.
We probably are falling behind the curve a bit now after the choke. given the amount of preimproved terrain around I would say hawk-hunter-settler-worker makes sense not having seen anything yet
I was going to say As for your city I agree with settler/worker - grow into mansions - settler worker - grow into mansion etc but I forgot we can't whip units out. Probably saw settler next for you.
The main hope I have on the curve is that darrell managed to choke everyone else too (maybe even still choking them). We can catch up to the Clan. It's harder to catch up to other civs. But yeah, to catch up we've got to go full speed ahead on growing.
I think we're mostly on the same page here. I'll point out that a hawk alone can do most of what we need for home defense, we don't need a hunter to stay home. That would save a few turns on your first settler.
Thanks for reminding me about the pre-improved tiles, that makes it easier to focus on settlers for a while.

It's only a question of now or later, you're right that I absolutely want it soon. It'd be worth 7 hammers/turn at the moment, and keep growing when the city does. But...I really need some settlers and workers, too. Nothing else comes close.
Anyway, I can't build it this instant, Code of Laws is still on its way. Maybe after the current first settler finishes I'll go for Governor's Manor in my capital.
