here are the results from Epic 8 - Potluck, grouped by civilization and sorted alphabetically. Not that I've had the chance to read them, as I'm still in catch-up mode... rolleye

Interesting... my observations:

Egypt got reported almost twice as much as any other civ for some reason

China, Rome and Mali were all played very aggressively compared to other civs, probably because China and Mali had poor peaceful expansion prospects and Rome had Praetorians

The two fastest victories by a significant margin went to Horse Archer rushes (unusual in themselves) that ignored the early wonders.

And Japan came out of left field to beat the Financial civs to outer space.

And that's still only about half the Egyptian players [not really - subsequently edited to include Sarek & jonottowa's games] Here's how each civ ranks in terms of the percentage of players reporting (based on the numbers Sirian provided in the Egypt thread).

Mali: 7 of 10 â 70%
Rome: 4 of 6 â 67%
Egypt: 17 of 28 â 61%
England: 8 of 16 â 50%
Arabia: 8 of 17 â 47%
China: 7 of 18 â 39%
America: 4 of 11 â 37%
Japan: 4 of 12 â 33%

Total: 59 of 118 - 50%

Overall, we had 57 reports out of a possible 118. That sums up to 48%. Of course, it would have been nice to have all 118, but 57 is still an impressive number.

Mine was actually a space loss not victory.

Jonottawa also reported a summary for Egypt here though I don't think he linked it in the reporting thread. He got "Domination victory 1589 AD".

I also wish more people would have reported. Being selfish, I particularly wish the Chinese players had wink

Great event though and one that will stick in my mind as it was the first Monarch triumph after 3 losses. Now, I need to do it the hard way without the AI missing their worker wink

I didn't miss you, Sarek, but you posted your report on Thursday, October 5th while the reporting deadline ended on Tuesday evening, October 3rd. Maybe Gris or Sirian decide to list you in the official results anyway, because you're a first-time poster and maybe didn't know about the deadline, but officially your report came too late, sorry. "Ai toggie", I wish I had time to finish my game. I'm still going to, as it was a really great game to play, up until my business trip cancelled a week of my already measly Civ playtime. I may have gotten the earliest Arabian finish, as I was at about 1500AD, going very strong, and the earliest reported victory is early 1800's. I could probably beeline for an diplomatic victory, having good relations all-round. Anyway, thanks for the game and reports.
