If it is CTON (or AI-diplo) I would be interested if you need another player. Though only if we choose our leaders/civs on our own. I don't mind if there is only a limited list to pick from and if that list is picked by whomever. But I don't think it is particularly funny if you end up with a civ/leader picked by the lurkers which you have no interest at all to play with.

I'll sign up for it ...

with a twist of irony XD

And I agree that the players should pick from a list selected by the players. How would we determine the order of picking tho?

Well answered by WarriorKnight in the FfH III setup thread:

WarriorKnight Wrote:Traditionally, we each PM our top 4 picks to the mapmaker after the settings have been decided, and if there are any ties then the mapmaker randomly chooses who gets it, while the other person gets their 2nd choice.

This is my suggested way of picking leaders/civs (originally proposed by Cyneherd on PBEM 10):

Cyneheard Wrote:Crazy idea for making sure we play new leaders and civs, while still trying to keep the game balanced and give players flexibility:

Each player picks 2 leaders and 2 civs to be draftable (could do a snake-pick style posting: Players 1 - 5 post 1 leader and civ going down, and then Players 5 to 1 post 1 leader and civ going up). Then, snake pick style, you pick from those leaders and civs, except that you cannot pick any of the civs or leaders that you chose. That's key: you're forced to pick bad-to-decent leaders, or ones with awkward synergy. So everyone still gets flexibility over what civ and leader they have, but they're definitely not going to be Pacal of the Inca.

Example, 3 players for simplicity:
Choosing Draftable civs/leaders:
Player 1: Saladin, America
Player 2: Qin Shi Huang, Portugal
Player 3: Charlemagne, Celts
Player 3: Asoka, Russia
Player 2: Brennus, Germany
Player 1: Churchill, Arabia

So Player 1 would be choosing from:
QSH, Charlemagne, Asoka, and Brennus; Portugal, Celts, Russia, Germany.
etc. etc.

I doubt this would work with more than 6 players, but that seems to be the PBEM max anyway.

I'd be willing to play something like this, if only because the metagaming of the civ selection will be so much fun.

You should just let me assign leaders based on how much I like, or dislike you. Even better, how much you pay me.

I think this is a wonderful idea. Of course, it's nothing to be surprised of, it's hard to see a day where I log on to RB and I don't find an extremely clever idea posted by darrelljs.

I'm an FFH multiplayer virgin, so I might need an explanation of how the technical side of things works, but I'm up for a game!

If you don't have a mapmaker in mind, and are not set against a themed map ( like pbem X, creativity levels depend on how much leeway will you leave me ) I can draw one for you. I'd appreciate a yes or no vote soonish though, hand drawn maps require time and if I'm to do one, I need to start as soon as possible.
