Greetings noble Pericles!

We note with pleasure that you've come to pay our glorious capital a visit. We regret to inform you that the welcome committee is not quite ready yet, our first warrior will be completed next turn if we hurry up production a little. While it appears that your warriors have smiley faces on, we would like to make sure they stay that way. We have done a fair bit of scouting to our west and have encountered fertile lands that are ripe for expansion. We know little about the lands in your direction, but we have enough territory available to us that we are not considering expanding aggressively towards you. Our first settler will go off to the west somewhere, probably our second one as well.

In order to establish productive relations between our fine empires, we suggest a brief NAP for maybe 10 turns to avoid an early destructive conflict. If you want a longer NAP, we're willing to consider that. We were planning on sending our second warrior off in your direction (before we met you), we would still like to do so as we have no information about the land to the NE and SE of us. I'm going to sit on the save for a little bit while awaiting your answer, so I know whether to speed up production of our warriors or not. While I'm a newbie at this game and at MP, I do not intend to beg to be let off easy for that reason. I feel I'm off to a promising start and hope to be able to keep up without special treatment.

Yes, i have travelled far from the SE although more E than S and I too have found rich lands suitable for sprawling metropolis' of learning and culture. while my first settler will most probably head towards you, it would not be into what i would term you're sphere of influence.

Be assured that our warrior is in no way aggressive and will now head back N and NE into the unknown wilderness' for as one of our renowned philosophers has stated " a hasty stroke often goes astray" and early wars very rarely benefit either the aggressor or defender.

as to a formal NAP I believe 10 turns although admirable really is too short to mean anything, perhaps a 21 turn NAP until turn 30 would be more appropriate and would demonstrate what will hopefully become a peaceful and enlightened relationship.

Thank you for your hasty response, I was sitting on the save for a little bit while confirming that you didn't have hostile intentions. A 21 turn NAP is pleasing to my emperor, we're happy to extend our hand in friendship and cooperation. I'm not that well versed in diplomacy yet, so let me know if there any other formalities we need to observe or if that's a binding agreement as per this message. We have no issue with you settling a little bit in our direction, but let's return to border discussions later on when we're both properly informed.

Would you be interested in some minor cooperation about scouting? We were planning on moving E and NE with our next warrior, maybe we could move south instead while you move N and we can keep each other updated about our findings. This is a vague proposal that will need further discussion in order to be fair, just wanted to put out an idea. Like, we could define a certain area in between our empires that we will exchange map information about for the duration of our NAP. Let us know if that's of any use to you, or if you have any other ideas.

think we can say we are agreed on the NAP.

i will head north and then NE so if you go south and SW we should get a good idea of the lands around us. if either of us encounter one of the others we should let each other know You say you have scouted West which should put you NE of my capital if you head SW you should come to a lake with Clams in which will put you due W of my capital.

Once we have more map info i would suggest we define areas which we consider are our own territory, this will hopefully enable a tensionless peaceful co-existence

well we managed to get three turns over the weekend, the last turn saw the completion of AH and revealed horses to the NW of the capital. that desert hill is looking mighty nice a a second city, riverside, corn, 3 floodplains and the horses.

Well this basically the extent of my scouting, it does seem that all the terrain is repeated in relation to the each players capital. The desert hill does look like city site 1

Further scouting reveals Hattie of England to the Northwest. I consider Pegasus the best Green among us and England were going to be my Civ if they'd still been available . i'd guess he's planning to conquer the world with redcoats

Galactic Greetings.

As you open the save you will see my wandering warrior to your South. His peaceful meanderings have taken him far and wide and you are the first Civ he has met. Be assured he has no hostile intentions and will now continue North and East around your territory to further expand our knowledge of this world. i have a reasonably accurate (at the moment) idea of what the world looks like ( and indeed you are exactly where i thought you (or another player) would be) and hopefully we will be able to share further information as it becomes available

Just a quick note to say that i've located Pegasus (Hattie of England) 12 N and 6E of my capital, i won't tell him that we've met.

i consider Pegasus probably the best of us "Greens" so i'd be a bit wary of him.
