Also shout if you need me to build a magnet to go down south at all.
Well, fortunately the settler will be covered by two bloodpets, and the griff can only eat one before Body is founded. I don't want to delay, even if that costs a bloodpet; need to get cities founded ASAP. Plus Mr. Griffon ought to be ours sooner or later, as soon as he comes into contact with your hunters, so who cares if he gets a little XP?
I think the question of barb magnets will depend on copper. If we have it (or can get it with one more city), I can definitely take care of myself. Without it, I might need a hunter to come help out. Actually, what I'd appreciate most at the moment is another hawk; being able to outmaneuver the barbs is as good as being able to beat on them. And bloodpets can win when they're in a city.

Ok, will look into it, for now if you just drop markers down saying 'hawk here T23" or something similar I will try to get the area covered during my turn (don't think I can gift units in FFH).

Sounds good. For the moment things are fine, but I'll probably ask for hawk coverage when I'm ready to grab my next city.
The griffon killed a bloodpet, as expected, and then I decided to kill it - I don't think your hunters will have a chance to go on offense any time soon, but maybe giving up the chance to capture it was a mistake.
Body is founded, immediately starting on a Governor's Manor. It's got a bunch of pre-improved tiles, which is handy; it just needs a few farms and a road. It's already profitable 1 gpt maintenance, 2 gold income. That'll improve as Rosedale grows (and as Body grows) of course. Unfortunately my happy cap here (assuming Manor) is only three! This is the main reason I keep thinking of Calendar soon.
And I'm taking the chance to build up an event fund; will restart research as soon as I break 50 gold on hand.
Yang is getting close to its Governor's Manor; currently planning to add a worker, then a pair of Bloodpets and a settler for them to escort. Debating if they should go south, or if maybe I ought to take the initiative and head them out east - grab the furs and I can stop whining about happiness for a minute or two . I don't really like my dotmap out here, need to spend some time and think of an alternative. Any thoughts, either of you?

Yes, the same way you can plant one on swamps or desert.

Now that's service! 1 minute from thought to answer
I think maybe something like this makes more sense than what I had:
City5 with four food resources would have been overkill, but something like this gives away the deer and fish eventually, and we still grab the furs sooner rather than later.

Can you post up a slightly zoomed out shot w/o the signs so I can take a poke at it?
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Of course. Anything else you'd like to take a look at?
Note that we have Animal Husbandry and Hunting, and Fishing is due before I'm ready to settle the area, so all resources are usable. The only worker techs we're currently missing are Calendar, Fishing, Mining, Bronze Working - and we're going Mining -> Fishing right now.

Well my hunter finally fell to the numbers against him, but he did leave me a present
I have also decided I am wasting too many turns waiting for the West site to clear, so I am sending his East instead

Sorry to hear about the dead Hunter; I was hoping he'd get his combats in slightly smaller doses and become a super hunter.
Not much news on my end, except I've decided I'd be an idiot to pass up the preimproved tiles and those hellish floodplains in the south for my next city. It's a good spot even with a delayed Calendar, lots of food and commerce (with farms) to speed the acquisitions elsewhere. The only thing that might tempt me to go elsewhere would be copper. I'll turn research back on next turn so we can find out.
