RB NFL Fantasy Football

Lots of big names going to the waiver wire today, hopefully with my two free positions to drop I can grab something post-Sunday.

Oh, also, thanks for Cedric Benson. He can hopefully return to a good injury fill/RB #2 after the suspension.

So, this week, PREDICTIONS! I should look past and count my records, but I am lazeh, so I won't.

We'll start with my game, with the War Chariots giving up 16 points:

QB: Matt Schaub (RB7, Texans) vs. Aaron Rodgers(GASP, Packers)

This is a no brainer. Aaron Rodgers rips it up week in and week out and is facing a Vikings defense that is So Okay It's Average. Schaub faces one of the statistically better defenses without Andre Johnson. On the road, too.

Advantage: Rodgers, by about 10+ points

RB: Darren McFadden(RB7, Oakland), Maurice Jones-Drew(RB7, Jackonsville) vs. Matt Forte(GASP, Bears), Rashard Mendenhall(GASP, Steelers)

On one hand, McFadden vs. Kansas City is probably the most surefire thing this week, with lots of anticipating rushing with one of the best RBs in the league against a weak D...but I loathe this MJD matchup, considering Blaine Gabbert means that the Ravens will practically be putting 11 in the box. Matt Forte vs. the Bucs and Mendenhall vs. Arizona are both good, if not McFadden-esque, matchups that, while I don't think either will beat McFadden, will beat my combined McFadden + MJD when they're combined.

Advantage: Forte + Mendenhall, by not too much.

WRs: Santonio Holmes(RB7, Jets), Doug Baldwin(RB7, Seahawks), Steve Breaston(RB7, Kansas city) vs. Brandon Marshall(GASP, Miami), Pierre Garcon(GASP, Colts), Vincent Jackson(GASP, Chargers)

Probably the most even matchup here. Both V-Jax and Holmes have bad matchups and I don't particularly think V-Jax is that great anyway. Marshall has a tendancy to gain a lot of yards without TDs but is likely to nab one here and Garcon faces a soft Saints D, while I expect both Baldwin and Breaston to score between a pretty meh Oakland D and a Browns D missing Joe Haden.

Advantage: Push

TEs: Benjamin Watson(RB7, Cleveland) vs. Dallas Clark(GASP, Colts)

I'm not sure I'm sold on Clark, who seems to be targetted less by Painter and so inconsistant. But I do like the matchup...but I also like Watson's matchup, with Watson getting enough targets to be good. I say this is also a push.

Advantage: Push

D/ST: Cowboys(RB7, uh...Dallas) vs. Jets(GASP, shockingly, New York!)

The Cowboys are facing a St. Louis offense with either a banged up QB or friggin' A.J. Feely after keeping the Patriots relatively quiet, the Jets face Ryan Matthews with a fairly bad run D. Advantage, Dallas.

Advantage: Dallas

K: Graham Gano(RB7, Redskins) vs. John Kasay(GASP, Saints)

Both look to get some work in and there probably won't be a huge difference. Gano might get slightly more just because the Redskins have a worse offense and so might have to settle for field goals more, but Kasay makes a good 3~ FGs per game. Push?

Advantage: Push

All that said, I don't give myself much of a shot between the QB and RB matchups. I'll take the War Chariots -16.

Not enough time for a full analysis of everyone, since games start in 20, so here's quick pick hits:

Cyneheard's Blue Jays are giving up 23 to Lewwyn's Lobbers. On one hand, 23 is a lot...but it's really hard to take a team starting people like Johnny Knox, Early Doucet and Malcolm Floyd(I'm surprised you didn't grab anyone like Jabar Gaffney, Sanzenbacher, Greg Little Denario Alexander/Brandon Gibson or Denarius Moore or something to replace Knox. Hell, Laurent Robinson and Titus Young even...but who knows, maybe Knox will be Cutler-bombed). So, despite a bad RB matchup, I gotta take the Jays -23.

Sir Bruce has not changed his lineup, so I can't really guess what will happen. No sale.

Put Tebow In is giving up 21 to the Scranton Scooters. Sunrise probably has this even giving up 21: Tebow is a coinflip, but the Ravens D against the Jags? Ryan Matthews against the Jets? Mike Wallace against Arizona? Yeah, I'm there. Sunrise -21.

Finally, probably the best matchup, the Spider Pigs against the Stamford Rams. This is a great matchup due to the way the pieces fit together: They're starting Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford...but their opponent has Roddy White and Calvin Johnson! So, if the QBs throw to their primary target too much, it can actually HURT them...but if they do bad, it hurts them too! Shonn Greene goes up against a tough Chargers D, but Montario Hardesty goes up against a tough against the run Seahawks D with little prior experience, while Steve Smith looks to maybe have issues against a pretty good Redskins D...but Brandon Lloyd looks to have issues with only an injured Bradford or Feely. I think I will take the Pigs +2 due to Dwayne Bowe. The decidier may just be Jimmy Graham, though.

And then I made a last second, risky move.

Well the Browns/Seahawks game is going smashingly.

Seriously, just ONE Wideout or Watson, do SOMETHING and I can at least make it look good until the afternoon games.

Arian Foster is singlehandedly carrying Sir Bruce to victory. 3 TDs and 234 yards of total offense with 10 minutes to play...Jesus Christ.

Pretty much, yeah.

I dunno what's sadder: That Doug Baldwin and Greg Little combined for 3 points so far or that V-Jax and Brandon Marshall only have one more point combined so far.

Fucking Ben Abonanu dropping that EASY 4th down catch, no more chances for Baldwin I guess.

I guess now I have to hope for...Steve Breaston?
