I assume this is related to the general database problems RB has been having. But, when I go to this thread: http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...post194456 I'm always taken to page 6, no matter which page I try to go to.
Also RB was either down or up but I was unable to post for most of the day. So I suspect there's something bigger afoot.

Experimenting with this - apparently I misinterpreted the symptoms. What's actually wrong is that my view says there are more pages in a thread than there actually are. So clicking to those phantom pages still takes me to the last page of the thread. Thread navigation is just fine, if I ignore the pages that don't actually exist. Well, and sometimes posts don't take, still. Which is why I was convinced there was something on that phantom page. Edit: Or maybe I don't know what the 'topic review' is. That's not the page numbers, is it? I can't seem to get to the last page of the werewolf game, anyway

When you're replying to a thread, scroll down below the posting window and additional options and there will be a section titled "Topic Review (Newest First)" which shows the posts that have been made. I can't access the last page of the WW game, but I can see the posts on that page by looking at the Topic Review.
It seems like all the posts that were made in a certain time period today are sort-of-there and sort-of-not-there.
They show up when you are reading the thread just fine. However, if you search for "New Posts", they don't count; if you look in the forum at the "last post" in the thread, it's as if they weren't there - you see the latest post from yesterday, instead; and apparently, they don't count for increasing the page count. Basically the only part of the forum that seems to know they exist is the part that actually displays them when you're already looking at them. P.S. I definitely recommend setting your posts per page to the maximum value in your control panel, just so you don't have to deal with as many pages. But that's unrelated. |
