[SPOILERS] Don't mention the war

Decided to send a message to Rome also. No response yet, but this is just half a day old:

Quote:Just poking around of the possibility to sign a deal between us. My position hasn't changed and I'm still willing to sign a deal based on our past discussion. Warfare will be extremely expensive in this setup and I see that you haven't yet started a military build up so I think it would be in both of our intrests to sign a deal.

I also suggest you take a look at territories NE from your capital. There are some developments that you might be intrested in to know about ;-).

Yes, I appear desperate wink. I don't really know what to do. I think HBR next might still be best just to have sensible units to build. Stack of HAs is way better than mixed bag of spears and axes especailly, if I combine these with Catapults.

I played the turn and decided to dial up Libraries in my big cities and I'll whip them out at the earliest convininet moment. I also need to consider whether running some scientists in the capital would be worth it although Academy is not very appealing with the current and prospected expenses.

I also chatted with Oledavy, but nothing concrete came out. I decided to tell them about TMIT's warrior and road that I hinted earlier in my email. Let's hope it raises some heat between them.

Here are the relevant parts from the chat:

Quote:David: Hey Plako
just read your email
what sorta deal are you talking about?
me: hi
Same old one wink
David: fair enough
going to tentatively say no
would it change my mind if I knew the developments to the northeast?
me: Probably not since you seem to have made yup your mind already
TMIT has a road and warrior standing in a hill close by
Wild guess. He is settling soon there his 2nd ring city
David: funny he never mentioned that

1 library down 2 whipped next turn for 3 pop. Rome surpassed me in power.

Maybe you should establish a trade route to Rome to see if they have iron yet?

I would need either Sailing or road. Sailing is not a high priority. Road is a possibility and actually I've thought about it and also chopping the forest NW from Felix Leca, but so far I haven't had enough troops to protect my workers. Nevertheless I'll find out soon enough, if they've iron because of the high soldier point value of Praets.

You probably don't want to build the praetorian highway for them.

Libraries whipped. Someone (Not Rome!) surpassed us and Rome in power with a fair margin. TMIT has an unprotected worker in the south.

Yum! :wakka::wakka::wakka:

You know, you could try taking the worker and then offering to trade it back for a NAP. wink I don't have any read on TMIT though, no idea how he'd respond.

Chances for that worker being unprotected next turn are very low. Either he moves it away or brings someone in.
