But against the barbs, we want a unit with high enough base strength that it can attack all the time, and cheap enough that we don't mind losing them occasionally while farming (cheap enough that we can take lower odds battles, too). And that's 16 hammer warriors and 30 hammer axes.
Also, I think our only serious competition for Kilmorph and the Mines would be Selrahc. Bob pretty much has to go Leaves, and Serdoa will want to go for horsey stuff, ritualists or rathas. Selrahc does have incentive, he'd rather have Mines than research up to Iron Working to boost the vamps. Our advantage in beating him is that he'll want to get to Code of Laws quickly, which is something we can put off for a long long time.
So it'll depend on the map, but I figure high priority items are Bronze Working and Kilmorph + Arete.
That sounds spot on.
I'm itching to get a look at the start location.
Something else to consider: Do we settle early with the second settler?
or wait a bit.
Deity maint is a royal bitch and we won't be able to connect the cities for trade routes unless there is plentiful rivers.
We may want to wait with the second city.
