I don't think there are qualifications for any particular team. With only 8 players allowed, we were always going to have to create a whole bunch of different teams. If anyone has been watching my stream, most of my recent team games have been with Speaker, Varis, and Diva, and I've simply been playing games with the same people as before. vend3r asked if he and his friend could join us last night when we were looking for two people, and it worked out well.

That's pretty much all there is. If there are any issues, we can create more teams to solve it.

I was opting for a (secondary if anything) jungler role in the main team because I do put a lot effort to the game and the LoL community here, but alas.

Since the teams are still provisional and we want to get some more games going, we are reshuffling the members a bit to get 5 people on there now.

Questions of makeup aside, while the 8 member limitation makes sense in the context of the pro teams out there (and I'd argue for pro- and non-pro ranked 5 teams with the latter having fewer limitation, except Normal Draft mode sort of provides that already) the limitation on the captain is really really annoying. We really need the ability to have multiple captains, otherwise a team of 4 has to create an all-new clan to play with a prospective 5th if the captain is offline.

One complaint about this system......

On a humorous note- I'm watching TSM playing against 1400 players in ranked 5s on stream. TSM just rolled them so fast. It was pretty funny.

Judging by this comment, and the Sex Robot win and the RB and Ms. RB wins I think the "ranked team" feature pretty clearly does NOT incorporate a derivative ELO function based on the players' skill. I would guess every team starts from some equal rating and advances or falls. If you doubt this look at the Sex Robot win-- i was there not a close game, Sullla's game was even less fair-- both of the opposing teams were clearly of a much lower skill level.

That is sort of ok for now, because you have to sort everyone out, but eventually highly skilled teams can just reform a "new" ranked team and then go on a ~20+ win streak of noob stomping... with no penalty-- except to the those that unfortunately get "undeserved" loses becauses of a bit of a sloppy system of "ranking" teams prior to them playing a game.

Previously if you or your friends wanted to play brand new players and stomp them, you have to start a new account with 0 champs/runes/masteries. The ranked system currently in place merely requires an invite and few clicks to do this. A system that is unfair to those of lesser skill and those using the ranked team system as intended

This is exactly the same system as solo queue uses as far as I can tell, this is simply the start of the season, so no one is ranked, and the point of this whole team idea is that individual ranks aren't counted like they were previously.

Give the system sometime to work through the teams and things will become more stratified, and if you earn your way to a higher rank, it won't be a problem for you. IMO the population that will have a problem with this is small enough that it really doesn't matter.
