I agree with Atlas' assessment of Mansa: spiritual and financial are top traits for high level play.

As for the randomness: While planning for a particular type of game is fine, in this case, I'm interested in learning how to adapt to whatever the situation is. I think it could be quite eye-opening.

I hope you play some turnsets with us, sunrise! (I see you've checked in on the CFC thread: Cool.)

I don't want to suggest any dislike of Mansa, I was simply taking the position that if I were learning a new difficulty level, I would first start with a smaller map and a better leader, and then ramp up the other factors, and finally when I had mastered many victory types on a huge map with multiple leaders conclude I was ready for yet another level. While our settings are fine, I was really thinking that had things not worked out so well we may very well end up with a loss and then (falsly) conclude that our strategies would never have been appropriate for immortal play.
