GvG Bonus Weekend! (March 2-5, 2007)

From the Official Site:

"As players prepare for the next rounds of the Guild Wars Celestial Tournament, we offer two benefits to PvP players this weekend: double GvG Faction and double Champion Points. The double rewards begin at Noon PST (20:00 GMT) on Friday, March 2nd and end at 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, March 4 (7:59 GMT on Monday, March 5)."

Let's try to get a bunch of matches in! For once, I'll be available more than just one evening of the weekend (!). If others can make it to some times during Saturday or Sunday, I'm ready to join in. [Image: thumbsup.gif]

I will be available every second during this event. It is a weekend and i don't have much to do then anyway :D I really hope we can get some good matches in. I also believe that we will get a lot more comfortable with the build if we play quite some matches in a short period of time smile

School just started this week and I go back to work so I'll probably be busy but will sign on when i can this weekend. Of course I should be there this friday when the event starts. thumbsup

I'll be around. We'll probably be able to work several matches in since you know everybody who GvGs is going to be around this weekend.

That's... gonna be an issue. We (I) told Moo that we'd try to start on time this week so he didn't have to stay up until 6am again and that's something I plan to adhere to (I'll start grabbing guests 20 minutes after the scheduled start time of 1:30 GMT - 8:30 EST, 5:30 PST, as long a we have critical mass critical mass arrives), which means some people might have to sit around waiting if they show up too late.

I'm sorry if that seems harsh, but remember that Moo and Arctic (she did say she'd try GvG with us at some point) are on GMT +1 time, and it's really unfair for us to make them sit around for hours while we all stagger in. So, starting this Friday you're going to have a 20 min grace period (or whatever you want to call it) where if you don't at least sign on during that time then you might wind up having to wait around in the hall for a few matches.

Well for me it is not too much of a problem as long as i know that we will start later. Then i will just get a few hours of sleep before the GvG starts and call it an early day (instead of a very late night :D).

Also i won't have to wake up at 6:30AM (GMT) this week so that also changes things quite a bit :D

The starting time of the GvG is no big problem for me. It is just that i would like it to start at the time we did plan wink If it starts at 1:30am (GMT) then i will stay awake until starts. Though if it would start like 1 hour later then i will get some sleep before it.

Well, that's part of the point I was making. No one likes sitting around in the hall for a few hours while we wait to see whether people are going to sign on or not. Before, when there were only 4 people (if we were lucky) showing up for GvG we had to wait forever if we wanted to go. We also didn't have a game plan. We now have a stated build and at least 4 people who show up on time. We're now trying to get other people from the guild interested in showing up. Also, we have more GvG contacts now so if one or two people aren't available to guest, we can still fill out a roster.

Sitting around for 2 hours last time because we were short 2 was some freak occurence that probably won't happen very often anymore.

I'm all for doing ad-hoc GvG whenever we've got enough people interested any time this weekend. Really, I'm up for it whenever but the added incentive of double faction might get other people interested as well. Hopefully we'll get a good few matches in.
