They both survived! Jkaen also has a barb kill team coming in, and we've 2 turns until Bronze Working is in to upgrade his garrisons. I really ought to have waited to accumulate gold until Bronze was in, I'll be kicking myself if that one turn delay costs us badly.
Other than that, the only news is the next Calabim settling party nearly assembled. Once it heads off, I'd really appreciate a couple Hawk flights to the city8 area, so they're not eaten by bears. Then I'll need to update my dotmap, the unsettled cities are getting a little sparse .

Ok, will cover you with a hawk. My settling has been slowed down by these darn barbs, hopefully copper will make it so I can relax a bit

Yep. Speaking of - Bronze Working is in! Your units should all get their weapons at the start of your turn, IIRC. *after* they've all upgraded, I'd appreciate you gifting me copper. You definitely need the upgrades first, though, the only worry I have is that one of your goblins seems like he might be coming to bother me instead of you.
Next, I think we're still good for Festivals -> Drama. The only thing in the event log is that Darrell built Rantine (so Form of the Titan is as good as gone ). But still no sign of a taken GArtist. Also...20 hammer markets are worth building . Not sure they'll be more important than settlers and escorts for you, without the double rate, but for protected Calabim, they'll be a very nice addition.
Also, we haven't had any pictures in here for a while, so here's what the Calabim look like at the moment:
Go away little bears! The real predators want this site!
And here's what the Malakim have been up to. As Jkaen says, many barb troubles - the kill team is NW of Queraslin, in addition to elsewhere in his lands ~4 poison goblins, a couple random warriors, and a skeleton. Presumably copper will make that all easier to handle.

Not a moment too soon!
Meanwhile, we have a northern neighbor - and his borders are neon green . So...do we double choke the horsey folks? Or do we try to find someone else?

I figure we might as well stick around here. It'll be T80, T100, something like that, before the griffon makes it to another quadrant. What good would it do then?
Plus - it does have that handy +50% against mounted, and we don't have to worry about Drowns. Careful play ought to keep it alive for a while in the horselands. Looking at the graphs, it appears the orcs have Ichabod pretty well choked, so maybe we ought to see if we can end up in Ravusstan?
Meanwhile, at home, we still need to just keep growing. It looks like our early lead is starting to fall off, with both the unchoked civs growing like weeds. We need to make sure we can make it to Priesthood and Feudalism in time, and that means mucho growing, both up and out! Fortunately BW ought to really help there.

Five turns. Wow, that kinda crept up on us. Only have...2 weeks to decide .
Thoughts, Jkaen? My thinking is that most of your settler building will be done with food, so Financial actually does make sense, even in a REX phase of the game. Having the Malakim contribute a lot of income will help us REX, by getting us to Sanitation and Priests of Leaves and etc sooner. Much as Expansive is tempting, it's really not as good an idea as straight-up more money.

It actually not T75, its T70.. and yup that did kind of creep up.
I went financial, as I agree most of the settlers will be food.

Oh, and after I took these I switched to religion, and played around with a few tiles to allow me to grow up to size 6 in mind.
I have also offered bronze to Mardoc (you can probably keep it, I will try to hook up 'my' source pretty soon)
