SG lurking etiquette

Actually, four identical save games is a minefield for lurkers offering suggestions that are not based purely on game mechanics.

I was about to make a suggestion in one of the threads, when I thought to myself, "is this my own idea, or was it inspired by something in another thread. And if I offer a suggestion, that another team implements quite by coincidence, might it be interpreted as a cross thread spoiler by later readers?"

So I think I will remain lurked for the duration of this event.

(Of COURSE S is posting the same comments in all four threads. It would hardly be fair to the other teams if he didn't. )

If RB events are anything to go by I'm guessing that by the middle ages the games will have diverged a lot for you lurkers

oh i have discovered pure gold!!! i didn't know about the SGOTMs. some of those are already finished. they're like RB epics (all the same game) combined with SGs (played by teams).

you already knew who won, but have access to them all. no waiting for turns to be played, so the fun of reading it all the way through like epic reports. but you get to read strategy discussions like an SG. some are cut-throat competitive *giggle*, so they not only want to play well, they want to beat everybody else and be the best, not merely improve their own performance, and discuss strategy to a very very detailed extent. and no sitting-on-my-hands to resist the urge to post, it's all done and decided.

so, if you want a gold mine of interesting stuff like that, but without the temptation to post, head there. warning: it can also be a time-sink. i spent a good bit of last night and this morning reading one thread that was basically a crash-course in how to effectively pop-rush your way to conquest. not my fault! i'm not a good whipper, i needed the lessons. the hours just somehow disappeared. (i need a halo/i'm completely innocent smilie here)

As many have previously written, lurker's comments are fine in moderation, and, personally, I don't too much mind what they are (flaming aside). SF has just been a bit OTT lately, but I don't detect any malice from him; he'll learn to curb his ethusiam in time.
