Yeah, and they'd be cheaper and more versatile, too. And medics/adepts have that nice passive XP bonus . And KotE has other benefits.
For the time being I think I'll stick with just adding more warriors to the stacks; even if 2/3 of them are healing at any moment, we'll have enough. And we need to keep Serdoa deterred if possible, so the extra Power isn't bad either.
The only downside to this instead of boosting healing is that it'll take longer for each individual unit to make it to Shadedom level. But they should all get there eventually. I'm mostly just amazed at the sheer numbers we need to simultaneously engage the raging barbs in the field and not take any battles with the wounded.
I looked at tech costs - Warfare is pretty cheap at about 300 beakers; we should pick it (and the Titan) up soon. Military Strategy, on the other hand, will be relatively safe - it requires Philosophy as a prereq, and is fairly expensive as well. Probably the post-Bronze path will be something more like Warfare -> Festivals -> Archery, rather than beelining MilStrat. (Festivals is cheap at ~180 beakers, and both markets/carnivals will be useful buildings, even if not awesome/urgent).

Definitely more warriors (at least until we can 1t Axes/Archers in Pacman, which won't be very long). Note that we can delay growth by a turn in Asteroids (to get the second worker out in Pacman) by slipping a warrior into the queue.

Figure on about half of the 5 xp units we produce to survive until 17 xp. Some of them *will* (and already have) lose some high % fights. It's the price of doing business.

Told you so. :neenernee

Warfare (start FotT), Archery (with both pre reqs it's dead cheap. Should be a 2t tech at that point), Archery boosted chops (x2) into FotT +100% for Copper +50% for GK + 50% for Ind should shave a turn or two off the Titan. Plus it gives us another unit class to build. And GII Archers are mad good defending on hills. Like the ones to the north of our capital. And the ones that our Wines are on.
Then Festivals (Markets will help us support a bigger military) and Philo/MilStrat/KotE.

Yet another saveless morning. It's almost like Selrahc's on vacation or something .

Already delayed Asteroids by one turn using that trick, we'll see if I have to do so again or not.

Yeah . But at least they Died Gloriously!
We might be able to improve that ratio with Bronze and Enchanted Blades. Although I admit I'm not sure where the breakpoints are for less XP/fight.

Yes, I think I agree. And carnivals will let us have bigger cities, too (still no sign of any barb cities popping up).
We'll try to get Libraries (half price!) and Bambur out, at least, before we need to start on FotT.

Unless something has changed in EiB, the Guerrilla 2 promo can only be taken once you get Arete.

Thanks for the heads up. We are definitely planning to go for Arete anyway, for the Mines and Paramanders (and maybe the civic), so this won't be too much of a headache. Ideally we'll get to Arete just about when our Great Engineer is born.

Random thought - what you do think about the idea of giving Bob Temples to Kilmorph (via Stonewardens) in exchange for either Temples of Leaves or Tigers settled? Or both, somehow - and if both, what else can we offer to keep it fair?

Hell yeah. If Bob's willing to do a Temple for Temple swap let's do it.
We need Priesthood (which we'll want in the medium term anyway) and some idea of where he lives.
We can prebuild a few Leaves missionaries and swap into Leaves for 5 turns during a GA and upgrade them to POLs (plus build a few during those 5 turns). Bloom, Tiger Cages and a dozen or so disposable Tigers would be very nice to have.
edit: Not to mention the extra health and happy from the temples. that would be pretty nice to have as well.

AFAIK that is still the case but we're aiming to finish up Arete (for the Mines and Paramanders mostly) at the same time as our GE completes (circa t95) so GII will be on the options list soon.
Since we're only going to be working 5 mines across both cities for the foreseeable future, Arete (the civic) isn't as attractive as Apprenticeship (for the xp) or Military State (extra military production, extra gold thanks to unit support savings, cash rushing) look more attractive than Arete's +5 hammers, +20% GPP rate and cash rushing.

I see it's very unlikely that you'll have time to micro this game, with three civs to do macro and micro for, now. Good luck!
Fairly boring turn - killed 3 barbs, trained a worker and a warrior, found more empty world with the scouts. Still feel short on military, especially in the north - if I can, I'm going to send at least one warrior north next turn.
Oh, I suppose there was one big thing this turn:
We can finally stop running that stupid Priest! And, for that matter, ought to be able to take our revolution this upcoming turn.

:hat: Serves me right for volunteering while drunk. :hat:
Looks like we do have a bit of a team going still, but if you feel like dropping by and helping out, feel free.

We might be better just to one turn a warrior in Pacman rather than relocating a warrior from Asteroids.

Academy and a Shrine before t70. Three cheers for the Philosophical trait. :hat:
