Hmm, I wanted to give a bonus to those who warmonger well. My reasoning was that better warmongering = more room for more cities.

But now you've brought it up, you are probably correct. Do you have a better way to reward good warmongering?

Hi,

I don't think it would be a good idea to change the scoring system while the tournament runs. Once the save is released, the rules should stay the way they are, as there are people playing already with the original rules in mind.

Since others have their own wish lists, can you give me a save which is identical except that I can play at Prince? Nobel? wink wink

This should be fun. I can tell you spent some time, and lots of thought, putting this together. Thanks, Sooooo (by the way, is it 5 o's or 6, I can never remember?) thumbsup

No, sorry. Epic/normal shouldn't affect the scores too much, but changing difficulty does. There was a discussion before about this, and we decided it's not a good idea to offer differing difficulty levels. Galileo was a special case because his disc broke, and won't be listed in the results. Ruff_Hi is just plain eccentric, and I was curious to see what craziness he was up to.

We'll keep the scoring system how it is I think.

Blake´s suggestion is good, but as Kylearan stated, better keep it as it is now.

Certainly an interesting scenario, and I will try it out.

Any scoring system that gives credit for an unlimited number of cities/GPs with no time limit cutoff is just asking to be milked really.

Oh no, my true identity has leaked ...
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

The easy way to kill milking is just to put a time constraint on each of the milkable conditions. 1 pt per broadcast tower or 2 pts per size-10 for any cities that you owned by 1900 AD. 3 pts per great artist by 1900 AD.

But I'm also loathe to change the scoring conditions after a game opens.

How about running two scoring systems? The original and an anti-milking system. That would even allow a combined score to be calculated, by weighting the two scoring systems in favour of the non-milking scorecard.
