Anyone who wants to see a game with similar restrictions (no buildings that produce culture, so no science enhancers or temples) look at a pretty old RB game that was Mao's Cultural revolution.
Currently on Emperor in CIV

Similar, possibly. But Mao's Cultural Revolution was considerably easier: you started with Mercantilism, was played on a highlands map with nice chokepoints. Although now I'm thinking about playing this as a fast conquest win... wink

Yeah, I was rereading your report and that made me think of it. A major difference is no running or getting scientists, prophets, or merchants. But it was kind of like it.

er... I found a problem with the epic save yesterday. It started the 100 turns left countdown in the late 1600's.

Well at least the professionals are back for Adventure 17 wink

Sorry.

There should be a workaround: download Gyathaar's savegame editor from this page . Unzip it into your saves folder, run it opening a copy of your current save, disable time victory.

The normal file should be fine. I guess changing the speed from normal to epic doesn't change the total number of turns. Oops.

I'm at about 500AD and I must say that this is the most fun that I have had for ages! I don't feel like I will win any awards for quickest finish or any of that stuff but the 'fun' quotent is way off the scale (at the moment).
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.
