Mod Approval Process: Ruff_Hi's Mod

This thread is seeking an understanding of the RB community's desire to see my mod approved. If there is enough interest, I will (sigh) slog my way thru another long PDF file (eventually).

I wasn't planning on doing this until ...

If you are interested about the make up of the mod ... here is the link to its CFC thread. Keep in mind that the HOF mod has just been updated and I like to keep my mod similar to theirs (we use the same advisor screens, etc). Hence, I will be updating both vanilla and warlords versions with the expectations of releasing them in 4-6 weeks. I will NOT be starting the mod approval process until I have released the updated versions even if there are huge demand here (yeah right!).
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Actually, Ruff_hi, I use your mod for every SG I play (remember RK-08?) since I discovered it. Mainly it's for the autologging. I'm too lazy to take notes of everything I do, specially at wartime. For a SG, it's easy to do the notes, as you normally play 10-15 turns, but for an entire game... The process may take a while...
The visual effects are awesome, of course. Like the clock mod, it's nothing you can't get in game, but it's MUCH easier.

I know it can't be used for the current events, but.. Would you please go on with the approval? :D

I don't entirely understand how to implement this sort of mod. Can anyone help me?

Also, if I were to install a mod, how do I run Civ4 without using the mod?

The thread in CFC has installation instructions. If you want to remove it then delete the customassets folder. If you want to play vanilla civ4 (ie no mod) then rename the customassets folder.

Easy enough. Ruff's Mod basically is an alteration of the CustomAssets folder in MyDocuments/MyGames/Warlords/ , so the only thing you have to do is renaming the original CustomAssets folder to CustomAssets Original (or whatever you like) and then unzip Ruff's file to the folder. The settings can be changed comfortably via Alt-J in game. I'm using Ruff's mod in every game I play. It's just excellent stuff.

So to stop using the mod, you rename the folder to something the game won't recognize, won't be able to use the mod?

Would the same apply to the Blue Marble mod, which I am already using?

To stop blue marble you simply uninstall it using the program itself.
