Swapped Pacman to full hammers, to get the Library up in 2. Partisan's on his way home, another couple units are on their way to the Asteroids front. We really need to get the copper reconnected and spam warriors for a while, will probably aim to do that once the Library is done.
Although - attacking with Archers actually seems to work out decently - first strike plus CII still gives good odds on most of the barbs.

Played quickly this morning; the Library is done, currently adding 5 bpt to our empire's research rate. I plan to hire another sage next turn, and of course we have a to-be-waned unit incoming to become a great sage. I expect our research rate to more than double from the combination of all of the above.
Next I plan to knock out a bunch of 1-turn warriors and maybe a couple scouts for DSing, so that we have sufficient barb-hunters in existance again. Although a Temple to Kilmorph is also a tempting idea, I think it has to wait a bit.

Sounds good, but we'll want another worker or two as well to replace the ones I managed to loose to Serdoa (nothing we could have done about the Southern workers, but losing the two near Pacman was just sloppy play on my part. ). We've got a bunch of tiles to re-improve and we'll want them in the event we actually manage to play a non-OCC game.
Not sure where to fit the workers in though....we definitely want more warriors/scouts ASAP but we also want another worker (maybe 2?) ASAP as well...
Have the Fireworks to the East started yet?

On the brighter side - we now have 2 units to 16 XP and 2 to 14, in addition to Partisan who will settle next turn. So we should have a solid boost from Wanes, at any rate.

Nope. Selrahc still doesn't have Feudalism, though, so Serdoa's still got a chance.

Nice. 5 Wanes will help us a lot....but what we really need is more build queues.

Did you contact Serdoa about the possiblity of OB once he techs Cartography? Distance maint has got to be killing him right now, so City States makes sense for him. The trade routes won't be worth anything as the "years of peace" modifier won't recover for a long time, but we'll have an easier time defending Asteroids for him if we can move freely around it (and we won't be buggering up his tile useage when we do move across his worked tiles)

Yes, he actually proposed it before I could - he wants me to do a better job of keeping his tiles clear than I'm able to do at the moment.
Which I figure needs to be the priority, need to keep the NAP intact, and of course that's our best XP farming area anyway.
Played right before work this morning - we're up to 38 GNP, and actually within spitting distance of Bob and Selrahc's GNP! Probably mostly because they've both captured barb cities, and are building militaries, but still! OTOH, Serdoa has an economy again. And a road from his homeland to Asteroids.
A gryphon killed a warrior IBT outside Asteroids; I sincerely hope that was really a barb gryphon and not Bob. Killed it in turn with an archer, who's now ready to Wane. Not sure how many XP we lost with the warrior who died, I didn't have time to open an old save and look.
In the north, we're just staring at the barbs, waiting on our Wanabes to heal and the barbs to pick less impressive tactical positions. Maybe next turn we can get another Wane. The next few turns in the north ought to be good in general, there are several non-poison Goblins incoming.

No save in over a day? Activity in multiple Lurker threads?
I wonder what might be going on?

Lo and behold:
Oh, and Serdoa now owns 4 cities, while Selrahc is back down to 3. Gogo Horsienation go!
Our turn is much less exciting, just killed a pair of barbs, and training more units to hopefully become Wanes. Or Ghosts.

Also...I don't understand Bob, but he just offered in chat to give me a barb city south of Selrahc's lands (maybe the one we found, too?) for free, just so he doesn't have to pay maintenance on it but can capture if for gold and XP. I said yes, I'd take it - tried not to sound *too* eager....but a second build queue would make a lot of the arguments with Thoth over to Wane or not to Wane a lot less heated. Even if it does cost an arm and a leg in maintenance. If we can wane more, we can afford it
And if the cost does turn out to be prohibitive - can always try to pawn it off on Selrahc before he croaks. Or be a 'good ally' and give it to Serdoa.
