I'm in favor of not taking advantage of either #1 or #2.

I think the "spell damage always causes a war" mechanic was probably added to prevent players from taking advantage of the AI if unbreakable peace was in effect.

I don't see the situation Dave posted as being very likely with no diplo, but let's just try to avoid such gimmicky moves altogether.

Sorry, guys, but the turn will be delayed a bit today (so maybe we'll end up losing a turn). My internet isn't working at home, so I couldn't download and play the save during my lunch break.

I'm currently at work and I already downloaded the game, so I'll be able to play it when I get home. If the internet company doesn't fix the problem until tonight, I'll send the turn when I arrive at work tomorrow.
