Do you get the normal two starting technologies along with the one you pick?

Good idea! It seems if you pick a religious tech, you found the religion after seven game turns (it happened in 3760 in my test games). Satellites will indeed reveal the world map. I tried taking Music and while I did not get a great person, it seemed the AI did when it discovered the tech (either that or it generated a GA on its own). Of course, Sulla has access to tools that are beyond me, so he might be doing something that would give different results.

Yes.

Just to confirm, they are Cows and Corn.

Any possibility Sullla of keeping a tally of how many ppl requested each tech and what tech? I think a pretty interesting chart could be made at the end of the event.

Throwing out some possibilites the way T-Hawk did on the first page is probably OK, and I don't see a need to edit them out of this thread. Some general "brainstorming" thoughts may inspire some possible variants. Just to be on the safe side, however, probably best to leave things alone at this point and NOT delve into further strategies. Save your thoughts for report day (yes, yes, I realize that's over a month away!)

Guilding principle: if in doubt, hold your thought for later.

wow... this one looks like fun... I can't decide what the best way to go is... I'll have to spend some time with a tech tree later today

How do I try a test game? What is the method of picking an extra tech to start the game with in order to test it out?

Most intresting, indeed...

A mail can be expected from me soon smile

My studies of the SDK indicate that this is the case.

The problem is likely to come from CvGame::doHolyCity. There are 5 elapsed game turns (it's hardcoded) before the game starts trying to figure out where the holy cities are. If the religion hasn't been founded yet, all of the living civs are tested for their understanding of the required technology, the best team selected, etc.

Good luck working around that. I'd recommend grandfathering it in, myself.

It's probably fine as it is, letting someone get a religion if they chose one of those seven techs. No more powerful than some of the other options around.

Yup, I agree with that.
