It's not as if founding your own religion is hard to do at Monarch Difficulty, anyway. lol

Just a few quick question to be sure smile

Is "Future Tech 1" a valid choice (probably not the best but at least you get +1 happy and +1 health without restriction everywhere)

Yeah, I agree. I didn't say anything that wouldn't be common knowledge with a bit of thought, and I didn't start any strategic analysis. Folks, there aren't any secrets in the game tech tree. Any experienced player could come up with a list nearly the same as mine. I'm just publishing it, as a bit of a marketing campaign, if you will. smile

And I can't even tell a cow from a sheep, so what do I know. crazyeye

To darrelljs, thanks for the testing on those techs. Attention to such details is what makes great sponsors and games really stand out. thumbsup

This event is one of my favorite concepts that we have seen for Civ 4 events yet. I really hope I can find the time to play.

Also, a loophole that I feel compelled to point out: The Oracle (also Liberalism) can be used to pick up a second late technology for which your Muse tech is the sole prerequisite. So if your Muse delivered Railroad, you could get Combustion via Oracle, or Radio-Computers, or something similar. Should that be disallowed, or is that considered good application of the Muse?

If you want to research a second late tech the normal way, or even use Great People to lightbulb it, I think that's OK since that will incur enough of an opportunity cost that it's not the one right answer.

Clever combos are welcomed nod.

I know what I'm going for, and though I doubt it's a unique choice, my reasoning hopefully is.

Since we have ended up realizing the "first to" bonus for religious techs cannot be turned off, are we sure the bonus for Liberalism can be? Or Physics, Economics, Music, or Fusion?

Does it really matter? We are breaking the game anyway, the point is to do it in a fun way. An extra religion or GP, or cute Oracle tricks won't really hurt.

Yeah, blatantly this isn't a competitive adventure. It's a nice leveller between the difficulty levels. I think darrell has found a game for gentle, medium and extreme players, which is genius really. I salute you!

But sunrise, darrell said he tested music and did not get an artist.

If you normally play below monarch, this lets you pick a tech to make you more competitive. If you're normally above monarch, you can pick a tech which lets you carry out some crazy self-imposed variant you wouldn't be able to do normally. Or just win very early. I've decided on my choice, and with my variant I think it will make for quite an amusing game.
