I assume you aren't allowed to take a different direct path to Currency (for instance, Hunting->Animal Husbandry->Writing->Mathematics->Currency), but must develop Fishing->Pottery->Writing->Mathematics-.Currency?

That's right. The idea is to leave the initial tech progression alone. This is the FASTEST path to Currency, and Mansa wants his markets!

Vote or abstain, yes. Obviously we're not going to kill you if a UN civics vote goes against you, but you can't "work agaisnt the variant" by voting for Environmentalism.

Game complete, after several attempts at prior Civ4 games. I did report on several Civ 3 epics before though and I feel good to return to the community.
