Hi, here's a mod I knocked up to eliminate WW. It's mainly meant for those who enjoy always war games, but don't want to be crippled with WW. I'm currently playing a AW game on monarch/highlands/celts with it and it's working fine for me. I might do a write up about it when I finish. However, I wouldn't advise it for normal games because I think WW affects other AI decisions, like when to make peace. It could turn it into a game where the AI will never sign peace .
I'm not a modder (this is the first one I made) and it's quite a crude way of doing it. Basically I changed every civic to include "No war weariness". Instructions: Drag the folder to your warlords/mods folder. Open warlords, then go advanced->load a mod.
Mod is for warlords because I thought that's where the majority of AW games are played (the great generals are fun!), but I can easily make a vanilla one.

Thanks a ton for that, I've always wanted to play Always War (I've started a few games but never finished them, WW takes the fun out of it), but the idea of war weariness (even though it's halved) in an Always War game is kinda silly. I've been too lazy to make a mod to do it. I think we should do an Adventure using this mod sometime (with only conquest enabled maybe...)

Great Work Sooooo!
Do you mind if I spread this mod around? I know the MP crowd would be interested in it.
Also you should post it at Civ Fanatics in the Mods section.

I would also like the echo the comments of the others for a job well done. Please do make a version for non-Warlords Civ4 as well, if you don't mind. We will be coming back to this idea for an Epic before the summer is finished.

nifty! crude? very clever IMO, great way to handle it as a non-modder. it never crossed my mind, and i did change some civics in the xml once for my dad. he's addicted to Civ4 but more afraid to mod than i am. it's been this way since civ2, when i'd email him rules.txt files with his requested changes .
hubby wants to try an AW game as a team one of these days. i'm of course petrified, partly because i knew war weariness would kill us. with this, i just may try to summon the courage one day. thank you.

Good work Sooooo!
In the interests of making a cleaner mod for a potential RBCiv game, I think there is in fact an easier way to do it. Unfortunately I'm away from my Civ 4 PC for the next week so I can't look myself. But there's an XML definition somewhere that covers each of the game setup options, and that's where the 50% WW for Always War is defined. If anyone is interested in looking, should be easy to change that 50% to 0%. (I wonder if a negative number works? More happiness as the AW game goes on? The Bloodthirsty Babylonians? )

Speed Mod is a Warlords mod for Civilization IV. It requires Warlords patch 2.08 to run.
Speed Mod doesn't change any of the functionality of Civilization IV, everything is exactly the same as in the core game. But it has been optomized for speed. Although it improves the games performance in all areas the biggest difference players will notice is in the delay between turns, which can drop to a fraction of the normal time. If you are tired of waiting between turns, try Speed Mod.

Vanilla mod attached still using the civics method, but T-Hawk's method may be better.

Do you have any info about how this process works?
