Tasunke Wrote:As I'm pretty sure MJW is a innocent villager, I think the best course of action at this point is to change my vote to CatWalk.

Its not that I really suspect Catwalk to be a wolf, but neither do I suspect him to be a villager.

And of course he initiated the vote against me. While not a reason to vote for him outright, if he was a wolf perhaps he would try for an easy kill by targeting a newbie on the first round. I mean, "trying to be helpful? filler posts?" what is this on about? Admittedly he said his suspicions were small, but it really just reads as a sowing of seeds to me.
The filler posts argument is actually one of the better ones on day 1. It basically means that we suspect you of posting just to be visible, without contributing to the discussion in any way. The trying to be helpful argument is about basically repeating what others have said, in order to look townie but also without really contributing to the discussion.

Targeting a newbie on day 1 is not particularly safe, as it's generally frowned upon to hang newbies straight up. I'm not married to the vote on you, but I wanted to see how you react under pressure. So far you're reading increasingly suspicious to me.

and boo at mardoc's vote ... yes the Romans saw the Greeks as a protectorate, but I'm pretty sure they were given more or less open autonomy in most things. (at least early on, before it became the second seat of Roman power and full on Byzantine)

But I think that was more integration than assimilation. Clearly the educated nobles got along quite well with the greeks, otherwise the Capital's shift in location would not have gone nearly as smoothly methinks.

I generally agree with scooter on the leave the newbies alone on day 1. Though a gentle warning, Tasunke, if you spam this thread to holy hell like you do all the FFH lurker threads I'll just give you the Catwalk treatment. Ask Lewwyn about that.

Also, holy hell, forgot Mardoc was playing. Welcome... I have some lovely tundra for you to visit.

Let's not suck our own popsicles on the clever "ferretting of MJW" just yet. Applying pressure to MJW to make him flip is essentially equivalent to exhaling in his general direction. He always outthinks himself and he lies all the time. All we know right now is he's jittery and wasting his vote for stupid meta reasons. In other words, he's MJW.

I'll give everyone a full 24 before I start persecuting the quiet types. Especially as I'm quite busy this weekend and will only be sporadically active until Tuesday.

Not going to leave zakalwe just yet because in Soviet Russia, grudge holds you.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Also, in a separate post because it has nothing to do with the game.

This was a little bit too racist for my tastes. I'm not one to be the PC police but I think we can make jokes about people's civ without resorting to offensive caricatures.

Thank you for the warning, Gaspar. If I should survive Day 1 I think I will try the minimalist approach going forward. And I appreciate those that do not wish to can the newbie on first turn.

(if editing of posts was allowed, those three posts up there would have all been one. But I think this will be my last post for some time/ until later in the 'game day' aka tomorrow)

My apologies, it was a reference to zakalwe wanting me on the totem pole and my role PM mentioning me being pacifistic and somewhat snobbish. I meant no offense, and will post a little more carefully. You're the one who asked for RP, though :neenernee

I agree with generally not hanging newbies on day 1, but that doesn't mean we can't vote for them and see if they wiggle or waggle. I'm still suspicious of Tasunke after this. I note that Lewwyn and Mardoc both placed very brief RP votes without contributing much else, especially Mardoc.

I just checked, and noone is voting for MJW currently to the best of my knowledge. Your argument has pretty much been stated a few times already. Was this a filler post trying to be helpful?

Now with that out the way I have had a quick scan through the thread, and first thing that jumps out is MJW hour 2 declaration duh

Have no intention declaring any way what my power is (obviously going to claim I am not part of the NAP lol )

Searching round for historical enemies I can't really seem to find any for Louis, but Portugal is near enough, and Ichabod is a good enough player I think its worth putting pressure on him at this point to get a reading on him
