Anyway, save has been sent to Tholal, apologies for the delay!

Wow it's nice to see that every other player thread has been posted to since I updated last turn. (and now I have the next turn.) Of course I don't know if the updates are quality or not, but at least we don't have any abandoned player threads.

We seem to have a very active, reliable group here. Thank you everybody for that. It's harder (for me) to fully enjoy a game if it seems like nobody else cares about it.

+1. It's fun to be in a game where the lurkers thread is the one getting the least update love. I'm looking forward to reading the other threads when this is over.

Hey everybody! I have some important game-breaking news!

About 3 turns ago, Ellimist brilliantly used spring to erase the desert north of my lands. I, as a noob on his first FFH game, had no idea what he was doing until the ice mobs started coming and and killing all my units.

"Beware, Winter is coming"

I was upset, but I knew I would be just fine as soon as I got enough ritualists to start collateralling. Additionally, Mist assured me that only one type of the ice eles were programmed to pillage! What luck! I could build up an army, use warriors to sac and keep them in the north, then kill the stargglers as they cam down. Plus I just built the Grimoire last turn and I took poisons this turn! Ghosts will be a terrific asset to killing these guys.

So I was fine. I was sure I could take the barbs out and still be able to raise a huge ass army to conquer whoever I wanted. Then I made the discovery.

I used Ring Of Fire on a barb and nothing happened. What? There's no promotion for magic immune... Mist what is this?

Mist and I:

Quote:Mist: sigh, I gave some of them magic immune to cut on pyre zombie collateral and stop them from being dominated, but this was not supposed to affect ring of fire ( I tested with chalid's spells, they were working )
if it does not, then I'm sorry I seem to have screwed up the map
4:04 PM me: ...
yeah
I can't fight them off now
4:05 PM they got my copper this turn too
so warriors are 3 power and warrior sacrificing is a lot less usefull
they only have pillaged one improvement and it had to be the copper
4:06 PM I mean...
Mist: the whole ice idea was supposed to replace boring ocean with something equally uninhabitable early but possible to reclaim later with optic-scale effort
4:07 PM and only reason there's that many mobs is to stop people from rushing Hybo to exploit it
4:08 PM sigh, sorry Lewwyn, I really didn't want to screw anyone that bad :/
me: well I don't think its possible for me to do anything without collateral...
4:09 PM Mist: and what's really infuriating is that the elementals STILL get damage from pyre zombie explosions
even being magic immune
4:10 PM and no, I have to agree you don't have much options with Ritualists not working
me: soooooo
Mist: sometimes I hate those godfucking inconsistencies in FFH
4:11 PM If you want to call the game blaming me, go ahead
4:12 PM we did it to Bob, there's no reason to save me from the hurt
me: I mean
we can set my civ to AI and I'll just drop out
then everyone can keep playing without me
I don't want to end the game for the others
4:13 PM but I don't know if I see a reason to play if I can barely kill anything at all
plus noone else will be able to take my land
so it won't really be imbalancing
Mist: the only thing that can stop the mobs is scorch or tons of catapults
me: I know
Mist: noone is ever close to tons of catapults
4:14 PM and only Tholal and Elimist have Scorch right now
me: Wilbourn is healing the wounded ice eles btw
Mist: if you drop out the mobs will kill everyone apart from those two
me: so even if I hurt them by saccing a few LOL
he just heals them
4:15 PM lolol
wonderful
4:17 PM I'll put a post in the organizing thread
Mist: add this chat log for clarity

So there you have it. The Ice Elementals are magic immune and I can't stop them. I won't be able to get a mage up to scorch the ground again anytime soon. Basically when we found out these were magic immune I'm out f the game. I was willing to fight on when I had a chance, but this is too much for me.

You have 2 options guys.

I can retire and let the AI take over and you can try to fight of the barbs or get scorch except for Ellmist and Tholal who will be safe. You'll all still be able to play and have advance warning. Noone will be able to take my land so you won't be imbalanced, however soon enough the barbs will go kill Dave then head towards Ichabod.

Second choice is to simply end the game.

Personally I think you guys have some time before the barbs would come. If my civ is set to AI it will keep building units and slow the barbs down. SO I mean its up to you. I simply do not have the will to keep playing when my best weapon doesn't work against these things even though they should just because its broken.

The map is broken and I can't do anything against it.

Well, that's unfortunate...

Are the Ice demons randomly entering your lands, or are they all converging on the gap towards your lands?

I can't remember them being so strong, I mean, I had odds on them with some of my troops. You really can't do anything to stop them?

You tell me.

They have about 20 promos each Including Blitz. I have lost 18 units in 3 turns and killed 2 of the barbs.

After conferring with Mist, I agree that this effectively breaks the game.

I honestly don't feel like playing on if Lewwyn drops out, and having to prepare for an onslaught of ice demons, while simultaneously fighting off my two neighbours.

So my vote goes towards ending the game here.

Wow, that sucks, Lewwyn. Especially since you've played a great game so far. I think we should end the game, especially since I opened the save to find out I had revolted to Arete (yes, I'm still in AV. No, I don't have a single city with Kilmorph):

DaveV, I've seen that bug before. It should go away if you re-load the turn.

Lewwyn... Eh. Sorry. I knew what I was doing was completely overpowered and unfair, but that didn't stop me. Maybe it should have. I did think you'd be able to use RoF.

As far as the barbs killing everyone else, that's not actually the case. There's desert between my land and Lewwyn's and if DaveV can borrow sun mana from Tholal, he can protect himself in the same way.
