As far as ending the game early, I'll go along with whatever the rest of you want.

When I first suspected(a hundred-ish turns ago) how overpowered this tactic was, I probably should have posted about it rather than rushing for the Necronomicon. Oops.

Also, Lewwyn, if you scorch the land under your cities they will be unable to attack. That's probably the only tactic to mitigate them.

Well I'm out any way you slice it. Even if I scorch the cities that just means my units are stuck in the cities unable to move stack up and kill the barbs. So its not feasible. The only thing that would have made me keep playing is some sense that I could have fought them off. Since they are magic immune that is virtually impossible. I would have kept playing otherwise. Like I said I'll just go AI if you want to continue the game. I have no desire to spend time playing a game that is broken.

Ellimist Wrote:DaveV, I've seen that bug before. It should go away if you re-load the turn.

I thought this was a consequence of loading the game over the top of another game? As usual for my morning play session, I turned on my computer, fired up FFH and the internet, downloaded and loaded the save. So there should be no lingering data from previous sessions.

I'll try to play at lunchtime and pass on the save if it's not messed up. Otherwise, I think something is getting overwritten. I've been getting bogus unit and beaker icons on the right side of the screen for a while now, and this turn there were something like ten of them (as if I'd discovered 3 techs, and built a bunch of savants, divided souls, etc.).

Hey, guys,

I had loads of fun playing this game. The pace was very, very good and the gameplay was very good too. It's worth pointing out how Ilios kicked my ass when I attacked him (becuase I didn't update my thread well enough in the last couple of turns).

I recently started a new graduation in college (philosophy) and my time has been scarce. So I wouldn't mind ending the game. Well, it was gunning for a very interesting finale, but I can always start another game when I have more time.

So, I agree with ending the game. It was a good ride, but it'd benefit my schedule if we finish it (I'm sorry for putting my real life issues in the discussion, but I'm being sincere about my motives).

Well, I'm sad to see the game end, as I would have preferred its continuance, but I suppose when you go nuclear everyone loses ...

Something is definitely hosed up in the save file. I got exactly the same revolt to Religion and Arete nonsense.

According to my event log, you adopted those civics on the prior turn.

Weird.

Well.

I am not in favor of calling the game, but will go along with consensus. Would everybody be interested in rewinding a few turns? Back to before(T117) I unlocked the gates of hell?

I think the map concept works so long as nobody springs the desert barrier.

I'm fine with reload and continue. Is that going to cause problems with knowledge of the future for other players, though? The 2:00 to 8:00 segment of the map have been at war that whole time, with considerable losses taking place according to the power graph.

Yeah, I don't know the details or timing of those conflicts. We'd be replaying T118 onward for everybody, except also T117 for Lewwyn and I.

It seems a shame to end things prematurely after 5 months.

I would be in favor of rewinding time to before hitting the RED BUTTON, if its the only way to continue the game ...

although I could understand if those fighting wars (Illios, Ichabod, possibly Tholal?) Didn't wish to continue.
