Serdoa's got 21 remaining horsemen in Asteroids. We have 13 units that can plausibly kill one each, plus the ghosts. Just a few more turns and we'll take a whack at it.

Finally - looks like High Priests might actually be an option (assuming the war goes swimmingly)!

Killed two more horsemen; the mobility ghost is heading east to try to see what Serdoa's doing besides sitting in our city waiting to die. 19 horses remain. Very soon we'll be able to crush them.

As Thoth promised, more barbs did show up - but we may have to kill them before the Baron gets a shot, if they decide to occupy our pigs. Still, it's a sign of werewolf food for the ages.

On somewhat more sober thought.....

I think that if we allow human takeover for Bassium, we should also allow it for Hyborem. Bob gets Ellimist as his permanant ally....you get me as Hyborem. I don't see any cheese here. After all, you are taking the risk that I might head off on my own and try and win the game for the Infernals.

"Iron for free" requires some form of trade route, which ain't gonna be happening any time soon. We would need either a road connection or a river/sea connection (and Fishing + Sailing).

Besides which, what makes you think I'd give you Iron for free?

Iron for Manes, sure....lol We'll want to get into AV once we tech to Priesthood and get a couple of Stonewardens on the board. Then spam Warriors and hope they wind up with AV as a religion (and die ASAP wink )

I think we can move out and attack Asteroids next turn (t147).....3 Beastmasters + 9ish Rangers move to the Horse tile then Divide Soul and teleport to the FP town 1 E of Asteroids and attack. With the Nether Blade on one of the low exp Rangers we can expect to kill ~10 Horsemen (any HM that survive an attack can be cleaned up by our Ghosts)

It will probably take another turn to actually capture Asteroids, but with solid defences in Pacman and virtually no HM left in Asteroids to threaten us, we should be able to finally reclaim our city on t149. smile

Ok, so I have more reasons to not really want you to take Hyborem. I want the Gela and his cities!

And I really have no intention of making any Manes - if I build any units who aren't intended to live forever, their desired end state is Wane, not Mane. And Serdoa's got no evil religions, and Bob doesn't really either. Well, apparently OO is founded somewhere, but no one seems to be using it.

I think we can do better than that! Although I really ought to have read this before I played, not after - kept the Netherblade on the top Beastmaster.

He's got 18 horsemen +1 Thane left, we have the potential to attack with 4 Beastmasters, 10 Rangers, 3 Ghosts who can kill outright + 1 Ghost who can clean up wounded ones (plus potentially one more wounded Ghost if we're on the verge). Plus the Baron if we're willing to attack across the river with him instead of having him start munching orcs. That's, well, I suppose it depends on the odds. But I would be surprised if we can't get 15 kills out of that, and possibly all the way up to 17. To defend the homefront we have 3 archers, a last DS, adept, disciple, savant (almost certainly), and whatever we 1-turn next turn (archer, say?). If we can get him down to 2-3 horsemen, then even if they're super successful and all win at Asteroids, he'll just kill our archers, and we finish them the turn after.

Anyway, I played the turn. Started with discovering an annoying roadblock, that we can't clear without losing Hidden. Decided to turn the Ghost around, he's back in Asteroids land, he can at least help with cleanup duty if we lose any fights.

Yep, we've got the Holy City, guaranteed. And we've got the Baron with three promos in store. My first instinct is to promote him up Drill until he gets Blitz, then MobI/MobII, then over to combat in the end. His primary role is to fight as often as possible.
