Lewwyn Wrote:You actually believe that Uber gave the NAP of Evil a cover tech? This isn't like a name that might be a clue to alignment the way it was in FFH. Ichabod claimed Compass. We SAW the PM that was given to him. It said compass. There was no cover tech. Rowain, what you are suggesting is completely ridiculous. I'm betting the techs are only for flavor that are loosely connected to our powers. Therefore I do not see a reason to give the scum any sort of indication what power, important or not, I or anyone else might have.
I agree with this assessment, coupled with MJW's theory that techs are tie breakers. From the evidence so far, we don't have any indication that techs relate to alignment. I'm guessing that some techs relate to abilities, while others only relate to the Civ.

If there is a baner, I think he should flip a coin between me and zakalwe. Both of us pushed to hang a wolf, and I was accused at length by Ichabod. Both of us have abilities, so I'm guessing one will be blocked (if they have a blocker) and the other razed.

And I just read Rowain's latest comment. Your insistence on revealing makes better sense now, but why did you claim? Gives the NAP another good night target, could have waited until dawn. I agree we should all claim, but I think it'd be wiser to wait until dawn (don't want to give wolves information now and there's no benefit to us in revealing right away). I don't think we can infer much from reluctance (up until this point) to reveal techs.

Several reasons:
a) the Napsters were for sure not happy with my reveal the tech push so I might have been a target anyway.
b) There were too many people playing stupid and holding an obvious harmless information (for villagers) back.

You mean you would prefer till I'm dead and the Napsters can lie about their tech as much as they want??

I wouldn't say stupid, just cautious. Also agreed that nappers would have already guessed you could scan techs.

I think it would have made sense to wait with the reveal, but you're correct about having to reveal now. My bad, brainfart. My tech is Philosophy, and it's somewhat related to my ability.

My starting tech is Diplomacy. It relates to the name of my power, as well as the background of my leader. Bismarck is probably most famous for his diplomatic prowess, so I didn't view it as out of place. The tech isn't in a civilization game AFAIK, certainly not IV or III. Since we already know that Ichabod had a default Civ IV tech as his starting tech, it doesn't follow that a non-civ starting tech is a bad thing. Although if I am the *only* one with a non-civ IV tech I can see people getting suspicious, and I'll be a mite ticked off at Uberfish.

The only reason I was making a fuss was because it relates to the name and function of my power. I didn't even make the "Non-Civ IV tech" connection until it was mentioned.

I wonder where zakalwe is and what he claims as starting tech.

My tech is Animal Husbandry, and I'm pretty sure your power is largely useless for a villager, much like my own thief power in WW10, when I played as Bender.
If you know what I mean.

Is them so? I wonder why you made such a fuss about it previously?
