Hmmm, great commander. Do we still have the other one we had been using with our assault stack? We can certainly make good use of him while waiting to decide how and where to use him.

Yes, he is still somewhere in one of the big stacks around Braduk the Burning, so we have two great commanders right now.

Short report for now; I will add more detail later once I have had some sleep. Was having WAY too much fun and am already up long past my bedtime. lol

6 turns played, captured 3 barb cities and 9 Clan cities. Two per turn average! dance Haste adepts...lots and lots of Haste adepts. lol

And oh yeah, 9 cities was all the Clan had left. So Jonas is eliminated. jive hammer jive

We have 56.77% of all land, needing 64% for domination. With a whole bunch of cities still in anarchy, we should hit the threshold once everything is out of revolt and pops borders. I ran out of disciples to bring cities out of anarchy despite building a bunch...guess I was taking cities too quickly. lol Anyway, there are a couple disciples on their way to cities (with signs) and some more being built.

We have 78.16% of all population, needing 36% lol for domination. No problems there....

I switched techs when I started playing to Sorcery, and we have several mages now. Very useful, Regeneration helped a lot to keep our forces moving and healing. Blasting Powder is due next turn with sizable deficit research, but we can afford it after plundering so many cities. smile

Ethne built the Mercurian Gate and Basium's capital is Inishbofin, southwest of Nezhev (former western city of the Clan). Basium joined the Overcouncil and I pushed through a resolution to declare war on Flauros, so Ethne and Basium are at war with the Calabim. This was mostly just to keep them busy. smile

We are very very close to victory. jive If desired you could gather a massive stack-o-doom and march into Calabim lands. Flauros has nothing much tougher than bloodpets and Priests of Leaves...and we have like 10 times more units anyway. lol The demographics are just brutal, our dominance is immense in every area.

We have 7 turns left on a golden age -- we got the harpy event in Red for a Great Bard and I popped a Great Sage from Bradeline's Well. smile Also, there is a Great Prophet moving east that I got from Pyre of the Seraphic on my third attempt (first two attempts produced "powerful guardians" who got slaughtered by bored members of our army lol). I wasn't sure what to do with him.

Lots and lots of units not yet moved, captured cities needing garrisons, wounded units, etc. I just finished off the Clan and put up a few signs.

Again, will post more detailed report later. But I wanted to hand over the save -- one of the team members who has been in the game from the start should wrap things up and complete our victory. smile

Will catch this tomorrow, and end it out. Probably the only strategy is;
1) Max Culture,
2) Twiddle thumbs,
3) Do victory dance.

If 2 gets boring, kill Flauros.

A few settlers to help claim some land would speed things up, but leaving Crusade would crush us under unit support costs. Even with 50+ demogogs disappearing. alright

Can we even leave Crusade, since we are still at war with Flauros? I am not sure exactly how that works. huh

Impressive work! You must've worked our horse archers hard!

Yeah, we can leave Crusade while still at war. We can't sign peace while in Crusade, however. And remember that the demagogs doesn't cost any maintenance.

We could probably handle the unit support. War weariness might be a bigger problem, though with Jonas gone we only need to handle WW versus Flauros.

The horse units got plenty of work, but with careful use of Haste adepts (I built a few more) most of our army had 3 movement. I also used boats to shuffle troops against Ator (south of Tlatelolco) and two of the barb cities.

If we can get enough tiles from the cities already taken, then settlers would not come soon enough to make a difference. But if we are short they could be useful.

Or we can just send a massive stack against Flauros and take more territory. lol

We have very little WW against Flauros, as we have hardly seen any troops from him. None during this last set of turns. Hawk recon can reveal some of his cities now, and he has nothing tougher than Priests of Leaves. It would be a walkover, assuming Ethne and Basium do not crunch the Calabim first.

Impressive work, there!

Though it's a pity we won't get a level 15 unit to free Brigit.

We will connect the Marble next turn, so maybe we should start the Winter Palace in Hezic'kul next?

Otherwise it's probably to get the disciples to put cities out of revolt, get some culture, and win.

So I've been keeping tabs on this, via dialy updates and I can't believe how much progress you guys have made! (you wouldn't have done half this much if I was still playing...)

Really keen to see how this turns out.

EDIT: Just looked at the save - OH MY GOD.

I am curious just what caused this reaction. lol

The size of our conquest-expanded empire? The size of our army? (It has become ridiculously huge. The limiting factor was movement rather than number of units by the end of my turnset. We could have attacked half a dozen cities at a time, rather than the 3 or 4 I was managing.)
