As long as (most) points scored are verified by screenshots, then there's no need for a 3rd party to check everything.

Generally we don't require savegame files for verification; there are no prizes to be won here at Realms Beyond, so we generally take people at their word. Someone could be cheating left and right, I suppose, but there would be little to gain from it. For a game like Epic Eleven, however, you should keep a savegame file from the two scoring dates (260AD and 1502AD) just in case any kind of controversy pops up. Hopefully nothing like that will happen - but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. nod

You know.. This happens even in the best families.... See my Adventure 19 report for a good example!
Sometimes I wonder if Sullla or Griselda change the dates in the event pages, just for fun. lol

i did this originally in an edit to post #35 but some folks miss edits and i feel awfully bad (not due to the kind PM reminder i got, it was handled gently), so i will go ahead and make a new post even tho i'd originally done the edit to save a new post.

my original post was using a KMad-logic definition of spoiler in my Permanoob mind influenced from who knows where, partly the rules on reading the spoiler threads in GOTM, rather than our agreed-upon rules definition. "no saying who opoonents are, no hints on map info, nothing the player won't know til they have reached that stage of the game)" sort of thing. RB rules and definitions are the ones that count! part of our fun is the surprise of comparing approaches and saving that for the day that reports are available, duh! RB rules state:

"Not knowing what your competitors have chosen to do, or anything about their results, preserves the hope and the uncertainty right up to report time, and ensures that all participants will be at the peak of their interest levels during the same time window. This rule has served us very well through fifty Civ3 Epics. We ask you to honor it closely."

"Absolutely No Spoilers!!! (This one is so important, we mention it twice. If you violate this one, you're breaking two rules!)"

i remembered the last. but i gots to go by the full definition at RB to respect the community here of course!! shame on me.

#1 i apologize (TWICE since that's two rule breakings) frown

#2 i post this to remind others newish to RB like me that it's not a bad idea to read that rules page frequently, in addition to the event-specific rules, even when you think you know it and have read it before. i'd even read it quite recently looking for a ruling on reloading in the case of a game crash! 20 (or at least 2) lashes for me.

i'm still having fun and i do think that's allowed. Sulla i am having a blast and this is the sort of thing i would never have tried in 1000 years even if the idea had crossed my mind. Hooray for Sulla! many many thank yous smile

Brantlicus - our number one, top priority, most strongly enforced rule here is the no spoilers one. No matter what happens in your game, even if you really REALLY want to talk about it, please refrain from doing so until the event is closed. OK? smile No hard feelings, as a lot of newcomers (especially visitors from the Game of the Month forums) make this mistake.

Ironic indeed, when cross-posted with KMad. lol

Thanks. I'm just used to CFC HOF play, so was trying to figure out who to submit it too (that is, if I finish since I also haven't complete my G-Major 12 either).

Hmmm, one more week, I might be able to do this. Just finished my first cultural victory game last week, though I must say I was a bit surprised when the requirement was three cities to 75k, not 20k (I remember thinking, "gee, 75k is a lot. I wonder if anyone has ever done that" smoke )

The same game where I converted the jewish holy city by culture!

We'll see if I can do as well another time around.
