I would tend to agree with this. I refuse to believe uberfish would follow all of the rules (see the boy the cried wolf) and so he will have to be judged on a different scale (see my previous vote on him). However, this argument ties into my reasoning for voting for Bigger. It seems that newbies tend to be excitedly vocal in their first days... goodness knows I was. And yet, just three posts from him so far. I'd be willing to bet that even though he's busy this weekend, with a new laptop he'd be checking in frequently and making all sorts of contributions if he was villager. But as a wolf, he would also have wolf-convesations to keep up with, and that would keep him quieter. Just a thought, but something that keeps coming to my mind when combined with the dubious quality of his posts to date.
Does this make sense? Am I seeing UFOs or patterns that make sense to other players? It's been a quiet first day, and that makes it so tough to try and figure out where the wolves are.

It's plausible. Although he does have a legitimate reason to be busy.
I'm a bit confused, though, why you simultaneously want to combine votes and start a new target. Surely he's not the only wolf, even if you're right?

Yes, I agree that his justifications for his votes haven't been necessarily pro-village. Honestly, though, I don't think there's anyway I would vote for a first-time player on Day 1 due to inactivity, especially if said player let us know ahead of time he would be unavailable and is likely to be able to put up much of a defense.

Y'know, I think I've put my finger on what's bugging me about Pling's vote on Meiz. It's that I can't see what good it does. As the only vote, without much rhetoric behind it, there's very little pressure applied. Basically nonexistant. It's be one thing if Pling had continued to make a case, but within an hour we've got:
pling Wrote:uberfish - the Meiz thing was indeed as novice says that it reduces the effect of a slip up, poorly worded on my part I guess if you didn't get it. I agree it's tenuous, so's everything else right now - one step up from a joke, if you like, but not much more.
You can tell it's not doing much by the way Meiz doesn't bother to defend himself anymore after this post.
But! Pling is seen to have voted! And with 'reasoning' behind it, not just a joke vote.

1. Much as I hate it, WW is a game in which Occam's Razor applies, especially in the beginning with plentiful targets (Those who have played with me in the past know that I would rather think about reverse- and double-reverse-psychology.
2. On Day 1, the simplest answer is that a wolf will lay relatively low.
3. uberfish has not laid low. In fact, my first reason for voting for him was that he made a high-profile statement. Though I believe Occam's Razor doesn't necessarily apply to uberfish, I don't have anything more than distrust toward him, and even then I have to throw out #1 and #2 to try and get a lynch going on him. Not going to happen.
4. I believe that the Europeans will be willing to join me in putting pressure on Bigger over my night, and with any luck that will provide some information. It may not be information about Bigger, per se, but any information at this phase is good.
5. If #4 proves true, I believe we will have a fairly easy choice that will propel us toward a wolf lynch, or better yet more than one wolf lynches.
I hope that makes sense. For the reasons outlined above, I would ask people to join me in voting Bigger. Or at least, to comment on why they would not vote on him, beyond the fairly cheap "because he's new".

Bigger is the one who's the best man at a wedding this coming weekend yeah? I vaguely remember someone saying something to that effect, but I may be crossing the wires and it was someone else.
I still prefer pushing Ichabod as a day1 target.

Save me time please? Why do you prefer Ichabod?

Yeah, Bigger said he's going to catch a flight for a wedding in post #59. I think he mentioned it in the SetUp thread too but i'm not sure enough where to go looking. Anyway, seems a little cruel to vote for him with that happening.

Pindicator, Mardoc, you both are quite persuasive. It's way past dinner time, so I am going to take care of that and getting the kids down. If you'll be around in a couple hours time I plan to re-read the thread with a notepad and try and make sense of everything with the basic ideas outlined in my last post. I just hope that you (or someone else that will listen and discuss) will be around, so that there is someone to bounce ideas off of and start to make some sense.
