Did you just clear Bigger with this post, MNG? Or was it something calculated? (I know you can`t answer, but I wanted to point that out).

I don't think it was either. I think you're reading too much into it. smile

To be clear, I think he's just quoting Bigger to respond to the point that first day scum lynches tend to happen when he's scum. alright And then he segues into a general statement from there.

Few quick thoughts...
  • Before someone says I believe in no talking at night, remember I was a wolf the game I said that. I actually think chatter is inherently pro-village no matter when it occurs.
  • I take great exception to the idea that I hadn't supported my votes. I had a pair of joke votes early (Lewwyn and novice, logical targets given I just finished a PBEM with them,) then I suggested Tasunke after what I found to be suspicious behavior on day 1. I switched to Rowain at the behest of zak for two reasons, one stated (that I would do for zak what he had done for me) and one implied (Tasunke had just claimed a power role - obviously it is stupid to lynch him on day one.) I never changed a vote after that because by the next time I checked the thread an unstoppable bandwagon had formed on MNG which did not require my vote and I could not conceive of a compromise candidate.
  • Over the course of playing a lot of these games now I've started to trust a process over results. I'm obviously pleased with our result today. I don't think the process was good. I don't think huge bandwagons when we have so little to go on are pro-village. We'd do much better to have at least a two horse race so we can learn something even from a failed result. If MNG had turned up innocent, we'd have learned nothing today. Obviously if you have a scry or something, bandwagon away, but in general supermajorities on little evidence are bad play.

  • I hope the next we get a bit more chatter from the masses. A lot of people said little to nothing today.

That was weird, skimming through the thread and seeing votes pile up on MNG with a sinking feeling. Then it turned out ok after all. smile

With two wolf packs I guess that means the village has more voting power than usual, and large bandwagons are less fishy. Although I guess there were some members of the other wolfpack on MNG, so hm.

Uh.

If I was a wolf and part of MNGs pack, I'd have saved him. If I was a wolf and part of the other pack I'd have leading him to the gallows torch and pitchfork in hand. There is absolutely no f'ing way I'd let a wolf die and get no credit for it and/or not saved him. Give me some credit, I'm a pretty good wolf.

And anyway, those are quite literally the opposite of walls of text. What the hell is it about me that makes me suspicious no matter how I play? Can I just have one lousy village game where I play for a few days and then the wolves kill me because I'm dangerous? Why do I always have to be just on the cusp of suspicious enough to be lynched and have to survive to the endgame where I'm trying to reason with Catwalk and Tasunke? JUST LET ME GET EATEN IN MIDGAME FOR ONCE DAMMIT.

Interesting assumption that the packs know each others identities. It's not what I would have assumed.
