Is this the Catwalk experience?

Posts 364 and 381 I lay a case against Ichabod.
389 I add a post where it looks like MNG is trying to dismiss the doubts about Ichabod

Ichabod responds and I note he never defends himself only attacks me in post 473
I think that's a very common WW experience. I noticed a bandwagon forming pretty fast and didn't see many arguments. I wasn't accusing any of you, I was interested in hearing the reasoning and didn't see many arguments against him. It gets tiresome to peruse the thread all the time digging for stuff (at least I'm not very good at it).

Catching up. More bullets because I can...
  • Interesting that novice basically said he plays the early days the same as me after basically calling me scummy for telling people about it.
  • I don't think I've agreed with much he's said, but its nice to have Serdoa back in the game, he brings an interesting perspective. (And I guess that means I think he's village.)
  • Yeah, pindicator. That's my number one frustration when people accuse of doing something that if they could only be bothered to actually read the thread they would have seen you've done. Catwalk is very good at that.

And on the lynch:
  • I'm actually pretty good with all the candidates. Like novice, I got a village read on Bigger before the accusations were brought. I think the case is fairly compelling though. I just don't love using voting records when we have so little information.
  • Commodore read very wolfy to me on day one. He now reads mostly just resigned. That strikes me as more likely to be village. If he was wolf, I think he'd be more likely to be trying whatever the werewolf version of a Cultural Victory is.
  • Its very odd that Ichabod hasn't so much as checked in today. There's probably a meta-reason for that but given we can't consider it, I just find it suspicious.
  • Tasunke, I believe it was asked last game if you wanted a spade. Because right now that possibility that you are just a misguided village power role is the only remote reason I'm not crusading against you.

I guess with a little time before the fireworks I'll put my vote on Ichabod, primarily because I'd like to compel him to talk to us.

Lewwyn Wrote:Just thought of something. If the Bold announcement is the wolves announcement then that is simply what they told Noble to say. Wht if there are only two packs and there is no Gray wolfpack at all? What if there is simply a Black and White wolfpack and this statement is by the Black Werewolf announcer pretending to be the Gray one. This way they make it seem like there are three packs and villagers are more likely to try and lynch more aggressively thinking that some of the villagers who go after both packs could in fact be part of a 3rd pack instead of just a simple villager. This way the Black wolfpack can say that even if a villager helps lynch both a White and a Black wolf he could simply be pretending to be a villager while being a member of the Gray wolfpack. And there's no way to prove the Gray wolfpack doesn't exist until one of them is killed or lynched.

Yep. And what was the game situation like when it was posted?

Oh, and obviously, I think the GM's clarification means that announcement was completely meaningless.

What do you mean by this? Color me interested.

I don't see how the wolves talking to the other players is ever meaningless. There's going to be some layers of trickery, of course, but simply the speech act itself means something.

But isn't that pretty much how we hunt them? Find people talking a lot without saying much?

On another subject, Catwalk, you asked for my case against Ichabod. I don't really have one, it's a gut feel. Seems appropriate :neenernee.

FWIW I suspect Ichabod's feeling a bit disenchanted at the moment due to other ongoing games.
I have to run.

On a serious note - I think there has been too much "I bet both/all guys on the block are wolves" going on lately. I'm also a little wary of Novice's defense of Bigger, since Novice is actually a very logical candidate for a third member of a MNG + Bigger pack. Speaking of first impressions, which is the core of that defense, I had a pretty bad one of Bigger when he opened with this:

Bigger Wrote:Catwalk seems unlikely to ever be night-targeted by wolves to me, even IF he is village. Might as well take care of him ourselves.

I didn't pursue it further, writing him off as a noob (which he has later proved that he isn't) because Catwalk quickly responded with pretty much my exact thoughts:

Catwalk Wrote:I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume there's a reason why this doesn't scream wolf. Feel free to provide it smile

About this:

novice Wrote:if MNG was sweating bullets then surely any target would do

Indeed. So why did he pick Bigger, who had both newbie protection and going-away-for-a-wedding protection? He's the LAST person I would have chosen if I wanted to shift some votes off me. And who did MNG address his final post-mortem post to? Bigger. The only WIFOM question here is whether MNG made a clumsy attempt at distancing, or was trying to set him up. I don't think it was a set-up.
If you know what I mean.
