Because I'm working on limited Internet acccess here in London currently, I won't be compiling the Adventure 20 results this week. I'll put them together at the end of July at the same time as the Epic 12 ones; apologies for the delay, but I hope two weeks won't kill anyone.
Epic 12 closes on July 23, the same week that Beyond the Sword is released. The plan is to give everyone a couple of days to either play around with the expansion on their own, or read some user reviews and decide whether it's worth a purchase. Epic 13 will be run on Beyond the Sword, will be announced on July 30, and will officially open the following week on August 6 - the same day that Adventure 21 closes. See, I did have this planned out
Just wanted to give all of you a head's up here. Depending on how good the expansion proves to be, we'll decide on the fly how many games should be run on each version of Civ

Sounds good . I appreciate the effort you and Griselda have put into updating the results and SG pages on the front end of the site.

Thanks for the heads up on upcoming games! The hardest part I'm having is time constraints. In trying to complete Epic 11 I played right up until closing date (still didn't finish), which shortened the time I had for the Adventure game. I'd like to try Epic 12, but I hesitate due to how much time I know it will take.
By you stating a head of time what games are coming out and when they are, I can decide prior which game I really wish to play and spend my time accordingly. The bad part is, since your just saying it now, I realized I could have played some of the current games. Oh well, I'll just wait for the BTS game.
I'd really appreciate it if you could state what games are coming up and when they are. I realize this may be extra work, but I seem to recall once you stating you already knew what the next several games were going to be.

This is an excellent point, Methos, and I've tried as a rule to give some info ahead of time as far as what's coming up. Most of our games are announced before they are officially opened up for play.
At the same time, I don't want to project too far into the future either. Sometimes I will get a fantastic idea out of the blue from one of the community members that demands point of priority. At other times, an issue may arise from the reports on a game that's just been closed, which forces either a minor change or full rewriting of an upcoming scenario. It's much easier to make those kind of changes if the info page isn't up yet for the game in question. And some scenarios work better if they come as surprises. You all still enjoy surprises, right
Point is certainly taken; I will do my best to keep everyone informed of the upcoming games so you can budget your time. If a game comes as a surprise, it was probably for one of the reasons listed above.

I must thank Sullla for his amazing and consistent work at revitalizing the RBCiv community once again. Things are moving smoothly and efficiently, which is necessary for a gaming community like this.
Also, thanks to Griselda for the punctual updates to the website, which probably has convinced visitors that RBCiv is once again, a fully active community.

Agree with the above. Not only have the games been interesting, and very well run, but the site is finally being updated really quickly. I appreciate all the additional work I know must be necessary to make this happen.

I greatly approve of immediately jumping into BTS, to do otherwise would make RBCiv seem like a decidably stale old dinosaur.
If nothing else, I can say that BTS is fresh - it does not play the same as CIV.

Um.....doesn't CivFanatics still run Civ 3 GOTMs? Don't they also run Civ 4 Vanilla GOTMs? Don't our Epics and Adventures tend to get more interest when they are run on Vanilla rather than Warlords?
I think the move to BtS is the right call to make as well Blake, but being a bit cautious and at least checking out the reviews and comments (which will probably be positive) isn't a bad idea. Nor is letting those members without free copies of the game have a bit of time to buy it.

That's very encouraging, I'm a bit more excited about it now.

Well, with Sulla running things and lots of active participants, there's a lot of momentum that helps me to get going. So thanks for playing.
