FYI - New Expansion Info

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough (not me personally as I think I'm going to wait awhile), but

So if you get a tech in trade, then you can't re-trade that? Or am I misunderstanding. That seems interestings

Yup, I think you've got it right. It will certainly make things interesting.

This confuses me more than any other BtS change. How does the game keep track of techs you put some turns into, but then traded for? What about Oracle and Liberalism techs?

First of all this is an option, all the tech whores out there can trade away like normal (classic trading (as you now know it) is the default).

I don't know how the game keep tracks of it, but the last I remember you can trade techs from Liberalism/Oracle (and Lightbulbs).

This option rules though! Partially b/c of the way it affects the AI (ex. helps Toku, hurts Mansa), but also because it puts some restraint on trading scheme.

I have a suspicion that the trade self-researched techs only option will actually help the player more than the AI. With it on, you can trade whatever you researched immediately and not worry about it being traded to someone else by the AI. For example you can trade philosophy to backwards AIs and not worry about it being immediately passed on to the tech leader whom you're racing to liberalism.

Also there's no more tension in waiting for two AIs to have something good to trade off your monopoly tech for while it possibly devalues since you can trade it immediately someone shows up with something and still retain the "intellectual property rights."

Whoa, according to this thread BTS is apparently patching Vanilla and Warlords up to versions 1.73 and 2.13 respectively... A patch is coming down the pipes, maybe once it gets released in North America?

Which was?

If Solver is answering questions that directly about BtS before the USA release I don't see why RBers could not wink...
