Nice job on leveling Jim! I don't think it's possible to upgrade him to a horseman (I know you can upgrade scouts), but his very power even without it.
The mirror map is good for us, if it's true, since we can make more with the same land than the others. Let's just keep growing our compact empire. We can raid ellimist later. We can probably get to Horse Archers very fast from here and they'll be extremely powerful (chariots are also an option). They eat bronze warriors/axemen for lunch and get decent odds against archers (with a crazy withdrawal chance). If Ellimist plans of filling this lands with warren settlers, he'll need to have a pretty good plan to counter HA raids.
But we need a way to produce this guys. So, conquest could be a good research project, coupled with sanitation to make our farms extra powerful. Well, the problem with conquest is having to let go of Aristocracy.
Either way, getting hunting after HR might be a good idea. Just because hawks are really game breaking. If we can get some good looks at our surroundings, we will know if we need to go for an agressive strategy, a long term strategy or something different.

Yum. I'll let you know any updates on diplo front. Both Weezel and Tholal have agreed to confidentiality pacts. It's time to get
on their arses.

How would you feel about festivals and drama next?
Considering our obscene tech rate (we make ~80 beakers per turn), the payoff from working a bard is too risky and this isn't too much of a tech diversion which gains us culture popping and +1 food everywhere.

Sounds good. We will need BW too for Sanitation (better than go Masonry -> Construction), but it won't be wasted beakers. We need it for Warfare, anyway, and bronze warriors are never redundant. But we need to be 100% sure we will get the GArt (need diplo skills here , it's too late for c&d). If we get it, it's like getting free border pops with sanitation. If we don't get it, it'll be though.
Anyway, were are you going to build the stables? On the capital? It's better to focus the production of the horses, so we avoid wasting hammers.
With Sanitation we will be able to build public baths, and that's 3 more happiness. It'll help to grow the capital, which is a nice thing too.

This was sent to both Dwarves and Malakim seperately after they both swore to keep all comms confidential:
Kyan to Dwarves/Malakim Wrote:Hi xxx,
Firstly, thank you for agreeing to allow me to speak to you in confidence. I appreciate the gesture as it allows me to speak freely without worrying about potential diplomatic repercussions.
I'd like to start by being frank: We're getting beat pretty damned bad. Ellimist has two capitals and a ridiculously strong military. He has been trying to bully me with archers all game but has been unsuccessful thus far. The archer that killed the Kurio's is a combat 4, blitz, cannibal, heroic strength monstrosity. However, he has made one flaw so far: he hasn't systematically wiped us out. I still think we all have a shot at winning this, but not alone. If we all continue to just look after ourselves and allow Ellimist to do the same, he's destroy us. His tech lead is enormous- the score shows that if you're not running your own C&D.
I have been in his situation before. In PBEM12, I lucked out with the map as I had expansive India on a map where every tile was forested. The best move he can make right now is to try and find allies. He has already approached me and I declined him. He knows he will be vulnerable if we all work together. In 12, I used a combination of offering free gifts, gold and aggresion when needed to convince two of my neighbours to sign long term NAPs. As a result, that game was won at a canter. I'll be as honest as possible, i'm not writing this out of the goodness of my heart. Hell no, i'm writing this because I want to win the game. However, it is my true belief that steps must be taken. Nothing dramatic for now, just don't sign a NAP with him. Once he has some secure borders, he'll go roll over his opponent.
I expect him to offer a lot for your friendship. Reasons why you should not trust him:
Fall From Heaven PBEM IX - Ichabod's thread (Vampires). Page 4, post 40.
That should tell you all you need to know. This quote sums it up for me, by Ellimist "If you made any mistakes this game, it was to trust an untrustworthy player."
The guy has already repeatedly lied to me thus far, telling me he had no cities anywhere near me (we're neighbours, thanks to his capture of Kurio city), he told me he only had 1 archer near me (then 3 appeared out of the fog to try and take my second city). He had a city named Hyll at one point so I assume he has begun his attacks on the Elves. His power has not dropped so I can only assume he was very successful.
I am open to nearly anything at this point, from an NAP, to a more friendly relationship sharing intel/ideas to full blown alliance. The ball is in your court, but the horselords won't roll over to the Orcish hordes.
Yours sincerely,
Kyan

Is that archer real? Damn... Is it a mutated one? It must be. That's one big luck out, if he got that by an event. It could be a lair exploration, which would mean he's at war with the barbs.
If you could send me the next save, that would be nice. I want to take a more in depth look at teh situation before making anymore comments.

Apologies mate, I played the save in a hurry and forgot this. I'll send along the next one. I'm doing a big update on Sunday evening for this game as things are starting to get interesting!
