Point taken. Idk, just from counting tiles, it looks to me like it's at the edge of my sphere of influence - marginally closer to The Citadel than First Touch (measuring in a straight line). So......idk. It doesn't look to me like I settled it in anyone's face, just in the middle of a bunch of contested terrain. Commodore, however, seems to be settling in NobleGaspar's face, and seems to be continuing that trend:



Torg wasn't planted towards me, so I can only assume it was planted towards the Chinese. It could be in his backline, but it's a little early to start backfilling unless you have an awesome location to expand into.

However, the real news of the turn was on the home front:

I can't believe that actually worked. So, now I get faux-creative for the low low price of only 40 hammers, plus a Great Prophet in 16 turns.

Only four cities! On Turn 49 playing as Expansive China!? I was expecting more like 5-6. They have to be making a run at the Pyramids to be at that low of a city count. Here's hoping I am the one that prevails here.

Going to dump the overflow from the walls into a spear, though I won't necessarily complete it right away (I am already paying 1gpt in army upkeep costs for ten units). Why? Welp, because I'm paranoid, and because of Mistabod's power jump:



Probably nothing, but you can never be too careful. They may have seen the 'liberate' option in the diplo window by now and are preparing a recon in force to see what's brewing.

The Byzantines are rocking some pretty big cities down there, I expect working financial cottages. They're going to be the biggest threat going forward in this game.

I think I make different decisions in my game depending on what music I happen to be listening to at the time. So I'm terrified to think of what dubstep would do to some of my games .

Nice work on Stonehenge. Also yes, Lewwyn is on a tear. He's had some pretty Hall Of Fame-worthy drunk posting sprees, but this one is up there, and that's saying something.

The big five-O was pretty quiet. Uncovered some clams to the west, started a worker in Sur'Kesh. At this point, I'm pretty much just holding my breath for the next turn. The way things are shaping up, I'll wake up tomorrow morning and know whether or not I won the Pyramids.

Indeed. I just feel like I now have at least the potential to win. My leader/civ pairing put me behind the curve in this game from the very beginning, so I needed to go big or go home. So, it's turn 51, and where do we stand? Well, on the plus side, we have the Pyramids, and got the awesome bonus prize of Stonehenge. On the downside, we don't have a single granary, cottage and are more broke that Greece. So, the upcoming turns are going to be all about rectifying all of this; getting granaries and libraries built everywhere and starting to run Representation Scientists. I don't want the description for this game to read: "Oledavy made a bold play to grab the Pyramids, but ultimately put himself so far behind the economic growth curve in the process that he was uncompetitive for the remainder of the game." I won the battle for the Pyramids, but still have a war to fight.
