What the fucking fuck

Haven't World of Warcraft trials operated under the same limitations for years now? If they say that leaving the level/progression cap in place after a digital upgrade was not intended, I'm inclined to take their word for it.

What is your point here?

Probably that using logic and reason in a discussion like this is ill-advised.

Explain?

Alright.

I tried providing a logical explanation, which you don't seem to be very interested in. You want others to agree with you, rather than discuss this rationally. You want them to shake their fist at Blizzard and call them an evil, greedy empire.

I'd rather remain objective, but in the RB Diablo forum that seems to be a rather undesirable trait.

I don't see this logical explanation. I just see you posting stuff that's wrong ("I'm fairly sure they did before") or irrelevant ("Haven't World of Warcraft trials operated under the same limitations for years now?")

In any case there's no shortage of explanation. It's pretty obvious why they did it and also pretty obvious that it's bad.

P.S. I really don't appreciate you putting words into my mouth.

You find it irrelevant that the company behind Diablo 3 uses the exact same limitations in the trial edition for one of their other games?

I guess it comes down to whether or not you believe Blizzard when they said that the level and progression caps were unintended. If you do, then why are we having this discussion? If you don't, then I'll just rest my case.

Anyway, I'd rather not see the alternative, where upgraded accounts immediately have all limitations removed. Every goldseller and cheater out there would abuse this and completely wreck the economy if not the game itself because it will take up to three days for transactions to be discovered as fraudulent.

Yes. An advertised restriction in a trial edition is very different from a hidden restriction in the full edition.

You're not paying attention. At the time I posted this thread, Blizzard said they were intended, and I complained. Later, they changed their position and said they were unintended. I am not complaining anymore. We are having this discussion because at the time I started it, it was a real problem, and at the time you arrived, blizzard had announced they were fixing it and you assumed that it had therefore never been a problem.

It's not the actual anti-cheating steps I'm complaining about. Saying that it's this or economic meltdown is incredibly disingenuous, especially since blizzard has already said they are in the progress of changing it to a third way.

I am starting to worry that the RB community is becoming a grumpy oldtimer as a whole, not liking the new games and remembering the good old times. CiV V, Diablo III, who knows what is next.:neenernee
