And in any case it didn't matter since neither of us got circumnavigation due to map trade anyways...

I was wondering why he moved 3 HAs out only 3 tiles away. Now it all makes sense.

I bet he bombs that city next turn. And then maybe attacks or not. I wonder how many tiles he'll take.

We might keep first ring if he bombs there. Probably not.

I think we might be able to hold on to first ring at CPH. Probably not 2nd ring for sure and I doubt we keep the first ring at Toonces either.

I see 4 options

1) Declare war and offer peace, hoping to lock him in for 10t of peace. Downsides include that he can still use the artist and if he's not thinking of war right now it might MAKE him

2) Offer some sort of "subsidy" (5gpt? 100g?). Downsides are that he could take the bribe and it could let him know we're weak (which I'm sure he already knows)

3) Stage and whip spears and/or swap to Construction

4) Do nothing (pray)

I like #2. Lets bank on krill being an idiot and ignoring us over a pittance.

We have completely different ideas of what makes a good decision here. 100g or 5gpt isn't going to dissuade him; he'll say "thanks for the money" and proceed as planned. Personally, if i think he's going to attack then i would go with #3. But you have to mitigate that against the push for Calendar and the economic benefit. I think we need to get to catapults in order to repel any large stack.

If you think we can build defenses out of just spears then let's start building those now. That will be worth getting calendar a turn or two slower. If you share my priority of catapults then the question is if we can afford to tech calendar ahead of construction or if we just need to get catapults ASAP. My guess is we should get them ASAP and then swap over to Calendar while building units. Sure, we don't gamble any and we consign ourselves to a slow and eventual death because we get paranoid but hey, we get to live a turn or two longer.

Rego and I just went over the next turn and we're going to cut our calendar research in order to make some war preparations. This way if Krill attacks we have a little more than cardboard cut-outs to stop him. If he holds off for 5 - 10 turns we may even be able to stall his first wave lol Here's our city builds:

The good news is that even without the Wealth Builds we still make a mean 66gpt at max tax and can get Calendar in 7 turns. The bad news is that these are our demos:

We decided to go for the southern big island. I'm sure Yuri is going to love that, so we offered him OB and next turn we'll send him a missionary.

So Krill logged in and out, right at the turn flip.

No score decreases for us, which I think makes sense. Perhaps he bombed but couldn't attack a city right away and is waiting for us to play this turn for some reason?

Or maybe he bombed, declared war and has made some sort of outrageous demand for peace.

We'll see tonight when one of us can log in...

I think bombing would show as a score decrease (land poinst) for us, so maybe he didn't bomb?
