The town hall was a long and narrow building with its walls tilted at a ten degree angle to the ground. The founder of The Village had never been a fan of straight lines - indeed, up until the infamous zombie elephant stampede ten years ago, the main street had twisted and curved its way through the shops and houses as if following the bank of some imaginary river. Inside, lamps hung from the ceiling spaced at irregular intervals, further enhancing a feeling of barely controlled chaos.

Two citizens had been singled out as particularly suspicious today. One always seemed to be a little bit larger than whomever he was standing next to, marking him as a possible shapeshifter. The other's odd accent and obvious unawareness of social customs marked him as a foreigner, a traveller from the almost mythical realms beyond the Untamed Wilds.

"What have you got to say for yourselves?" the citizens demanded.

"Well, I'll admit to having committed crimes in the past," said the big man, "but no one ever suspected me. Since you lot suspect me, that proves that I'm innocent."

"L0l w0t 4 5tup1d 4rgumn3t, d4t dud3 15 0bv 5kumz0r!!!11111!!!!11" said the foreigner.

People started slowly nodding their heads, won over by his obvious charisma.

"4150 n0v1c3 4nd jk43n r t3h 1nn0c3ntz."

At this there were a number of frowns.

"How do you know they're innocent?"

"1tz 0bv10u5 u n00bz0r5..." he replied.

"You know what's obvious? The reason you know they're innocent is because YOU'RE guilty!"

"Yeah let's lynch him!"

With that the village grabbed VM and dragged him outside to his doom. Unfortunately, the corpse underwent no transformation. They had hanged an innocent man.

I'm back!

First things first, other half got the 2:1 degree we were hoping for so I'm in a pretty damn good mood right now. Apologies for being quiet/unhelpful (I know some of you have picked up on it) but there's no way on earth I am missing out on celebration time with her just to get involved here - especially as it would be making a comment for the sake of making one as there is no way I'd be able to read back and get the gist of the discussion.

I've read now and I'm not full sold on the VM lynch. It may simply be due to the fact that his post restriction is making it too hard for me to get a concrete read on him and a bit of a worry over lynching 'noobs' again (though he seems too confident and I have a slight 'Locke' feeling of VM being an alias - maybe its the return of MJW?)

Seeing Jkaen see how waterbat, bigger and slowcheetah start discussing reads on me and then vote for me as an 'alternative' lynch seems a bit of a visible attempt to try and get momentum on to me, maybe to save a friend of his?

As such, the pressure of my single vote falls on to Jkaen as I feel he has overtaken Sareln in my estimation now.

Which friend did you think Jkaen was trying to save?

Bah - I was watching ____________ prevail in the Euro cup (on DVR-delay) and missed the deadline.

well, i think that the moves over to VM could easily been designed to save Bigger. Unfortunately, a wolf-coordinated move to VM also makes sense if Bigger is villager as well... because a) the VM lynch appears to give less information b) Bigger is going to be up for mislynch again.

Let me go back and bold the "if" part.

Either way, i think we have a easily have a wolf or two in that group. And no, I'm not one of them. And uberfish is wrong (see below). And lynching me would be bad.

Can time really be given a direction? I'd rather you'd say
"Time is finished" or "The time is completed". Saying the time is up is just as wrong as saying "Time is down" or "Time is left" or "Time is east"

Bigger was getting some movement so him. He was the only real threat to VM at the later stage

Thanks for playing VM. I imagine your restriction was frustrating, I hope you at least enjoyed the game. smile

zakalwe Wrote:Injera, in post 151 you just quoted the last sentence above, and called it hyperbolic. But reading it in context above, you will see that Bigger was talking about Waterbat's behavior in the previous game. At least that's how I read it, and why I didn't find it suspicious.

I read it in context, I felt the extrapolation from a single vote this game was unjustified. It was in the context of switching on to your vote, which is can be a safe haven for weak rationales (no offense, it's just a safe place to park a vote usually.) Ultimately I think our different reads are probably coming from different underlying takes on waterbat, though.
