Realms Beyond Guild banner patterns!

During the past beta weekend, I grabbed a lot of screenies of the different possibilities for guild banners. (This is going to be a spacious post!) Please consider the options, and vote on your favorite combination.

To start with, here is the current guild banner, created by Sirian (note the new cape design, which may mean that having a really visible color may not be truly useful in PvP):

(BTW, I tried to create a Nuclear Orange banner, but as you can see the color didn't come out that lurid. And I'm partial to dragons, hence the design choice for illustrative purposes...)

Must have took awhile to get this done, thanks, but where are the missing pictures? ;p

How should we do this poll... well, lets get some practice in character building. What say everyone gets 5 points to spend. s/he can spend all 5 points on one design, or spread the 5 points out to many designs. All we do is pick the one with most points.

As seen on your web page depiction, my preferences are as follows, for what it's worth:

Banner Pattern Preferrred, in descending order: F, C, H
General Background on Banner: 12, 29, 28 in that order
Logo/Figure: In the following order:
Crossed Swords ( last down, last on right) (Fifth row down, fourth from L to R) Prussian Eagle (First one on last row) Gryphon (Second one, last row.)

Lurid Orange sounds nice, particularly your choice of the term 'lurid.' .

Also, thanks so much for, in the screenie of the current banner, discretely covering the naked rogue's assets with the cape. As you know, Rogues are a very modest bunch! "Wwere do I put this?" /guitar music from Kill Bill

Design
Considering the RB tendancy to laugh in the face of adversity and dream of soloing against Baal in a Hell 8 player game with a naked punching-only Clvl30 Sorceress, I'd be inclined to suggest the bravery evident in some of those lion designs . . .

Or the fool's hat.

Those crossed keys might be another one for signifying the tendancy to unlock the little tricks of the game that often prove crucial in allowing severely handicapped characters through the tight spots.

Banner Pattern
19, 20, 21 in no particular order

The flame design, 31, looks good too.

Banner style G, Banner pattern 12, 23, 28 or 29, and my logo preference is the scorpion, the lion (3 rows directly under the scorpion), or one of the mythological creatures in positions 1 and 2 from the left 4 rows up from the bottom.

I can't seem to get most of the images to load, even at your website.

I chose the crossed swords for visibility. I chose the rising/setting sun background for visibility as well as symbology, although I was a tad disappointed that it was impossible to tell (in practice) what the background was supposed to be.

Considering that latter, I'd be leery of most of the emblems. A lot of them are going to be little more than splotches, except when standing still right next to one of our crew.

So I am happy with the two choices I made: the swords and the sunrise. Not a lot of response here yet, though. Maybe because the images aren't working?

They show up perfectly fine for me in both opera and IE....

FWIW, since I can't actually play atm, I rather like the look of the current banner, especially that color now that its purple. I dono why, but I've allways liked the color purple on chicks. Since you folks tend to play female characters, I rather like it. The moon/stars looks to me that it would look pretty good with that color. The cape design options don't do anything for me one way or the other.

I like the Snake, #5. A snake wrap around the sun in a figure 8 (infinity) is Realms Beyond. The alpha map on it would make it look like there are more colors too, but it may look blotched at a distant. Would have to see it on a cape to tell for sure.

Other than that, I like the Dragon of Hawkmoon's choice but I like one of the torn out banners, D, below



Hawkmoon is going for the total regal look from the choice of banner to color pick. I have no favorite color, it always depends on the subject. The Royal blue and Royal yellow/gold is a good combo, tho I would more likely reverse it and have a Blue dragon on solid gold. Hawkmoon's way works too but not on that pattern. I would go for something more solid - The Flame makes the cape look washed out in the pic.



# 15, 16 looks okay but I think I like # 30 from below

Just to add my two cents:

I have no colour preference. I just want to be able to recognize it at a distance.

I rather like the look of the torn banner, myself - battered but not beaten. For the same reason, I don't mind the 'washed out' look of the one style - weathered warriors is what we aim to be, no?
