Planetfall PBEM Tech Thread

I have a problem as well.

I end my turn, and I get this at the bottom of the screen, no pop up to send a turn to selrahc, and no save appearing in my Planetfall1 folder.



Two possibilities. One is that the barbs are calculating their moves, and it's bugging out. Another is that I'm getting failgold. In BTS, I would have gotten failgold at the beginning of the next turn. For some reason, I'm getting it at the end of the current turn.

Weird. You're opening the save by double-clicking on it? Or by opening planetfall and going Multiplayer -> PBEM -> Load Game?

Could it be that Maniac used a different version of Planetfall for the hotseat turn, and the game is now confused?

Load Planetfall mod > Multiplayer > PBEM > Double-click Mist's save to me.

I've never opened a save by opening it up directly from the windows folder.

Alright, so it's opening in PBEM. The waiting for other factions thing implies Barbs then. Why would failgold cause the turn to fizzle?

Because normally you get it at the beginning of the next turn.

Also, I can't open the event log nor open city screens.

Is it possible that the barbs could be stuck using the Hotseat format? Googling "Waiting for other Civlizations" produces a bunch of threads on Civfanatics, but mostly for SP issues from years ago. Also Civfanatics is loading really poorly for me.

What's the score-box look like? Does everyone have *'s next to their names?

Waiting for other Factions/Civilization usually indicates some infinite loop, but I'd be really surprised if there still was some bad code in Planetfall which caused such an issue that early in the game.

As Bob says, maybe switching from PBEM -> Hotseat -> PBEM broke something? I'll run a test later tonight and see if that is so.
