Just a heads up, I saw several new users registering on "Who's Online" just now, all with similar account name patterns (mostly lowercase letters with a few numbers). Looking at the list of users by registration date, it does seem like there's been a huge spike today.

So there are... there's been 10-20 per day going back to June 29th. Looks like none have managed to post though. I guess I'll start banning them. And maybe tighten up the registration page; it's got a question that you have to answer with "Realms Beyond" as a bot filter, but maybe the botnets know about that.

The question is not a good way to secure login page, if only because some dumb bots will try to bruteforce their way in with few thousands attempts at the page.

When I was running a web forum, I finally ended up cross-referencing all visitors to my register.php, login.php and posting.php with Project Honeypot, and that was ultimately the thing that solved majority of my spam headaches.
