OK, enjoy it lad, my lvl59 sorcie is on 3.9k DPS and 750 INT and I bet that makes me play the game in a smarter way than your toons. Even if I'm a mediocre player (at best) and you're 1337.

Athene's persona is a little crazy, but it's just that, a persona, and act. Basically it's flame-bait. The actual him's an alright guy, as far as I know. He does a lot for the gaming community and is also responsible for starting this: http://opsharecraft.com/

You can play Diablo III, which is normal-nightmare-hell (i.e. the fun part) without touching Auction House. Inferno is just a demo mode for players of Auction House to show off their e-peens.

It may be optional. I played all 5 heroes through Normal and NM till act iv using self found, but it took a lot of time and dying. One weapon with 2x dmg (of current weapons)from the AH would have made it a lot easier.

If I was to do it over I would at least buy a good level 40-41 weapon for most of NM. Talking about solo playing, no party. Don't know if more items of use would have shown up in party mode.

I just play as if legendary items do not exist -- because they don't, really, if you aren't playing the auction house. Drop rates are adjusted so low they might as well not exist, and even if you get one the odds are it will be junk. So why care about them at all?

I have a character in Act IV Nightmare and another in Act II Nightmare, plus a couple more at various points in Normal. Only one legendary drop so far, and it was complete garbage -- significantly worse than the blue I had in that slot. "Legendary" indeed.
